Kew Neighbouthood Association
We're here to help
Chalrfs rnport to the Annual General Meetlng for Nelghbourhood A560clatlon on 24th
Aprfl 2024
l am as always, very grateful to our wonderful staff. led by Abi, my fellow trustees, and to you. our
volunteers and clients, lor ma￿.ng Kew Neighbourhood Association the success it is.
Over the last year we have completed the set up of th8 Charitable incorporated organisation, or CIO,
and l am grateful for all the work trustees and staff PLrt In to make this happen, especially Abi, Kirsty
and Andrew our treasurer.
Thls has been despite the challenges wrth Barclays Bank. who went from 'no Pfoblem, we simply
change the type of organtsation in our ban￿.ng system and you can keep the same sort code and
account number. to 'you need a whole new bank account set up and every trustee must go through
our fvjll verificatlon process. with many inconsistent answers from banking staff along the way.
However, we made it, and thank you to any of you who had to change our detsi18 In your record8.
The original pre CIO charity has dornant since the end, of March 2023 and we are now ready to
¢108e It.
Looking back to the year since our last AGM, notable events,Include:
Being part of the Big Help Out for his Majesty the King'8 Coronation Bank Holiday
volunteering day in May leafleting many of Kew's streets particularty targetlng Kew
RiversKle, flats and ar8as of social housing in Kew.
The KNA stall at Kew Fete in June

we are already looking fopNard to how
I'd like to thank our main funders (RPLC, CILS, and Kew Village Market) and those

St Anne's for grfling us use of the Church Hall tonight.
Thank you to indlvKlual3 - you know who you are - who made donations, have a regular

Andrew our Treasurer wll mention Ihat RPLC have said that their fundin9 to US may
decrease but we won't know by how much unb'l MKI year. l encourage you all to think
about how you can contribute more to KNA. if you haven't already. KNA'S Donate page
makes it simple to make regular or one off donations with a Gift Aid Option. P￿ase do
consider KNA in your will. Legacies have provided KNA with COns￿erable stability over
the years.
Over the last year we have seen a rise in demand for KNA'S seNices and had to manage
appropriately from the perspective of Office and Driving Volunteers as well as stsff
capacity. Looking at the statistics for the year, also available in the AGM papers, jobs
have settled down a bit after the peak in Covid years, and volunteers have stayed steady
last year to this but we would welcome new volunteers to reduce the pressure on existing
volunteers and also allow us to do more for our clients.
During the year we have had someistaffing changes as well.
Linda Redding st8pped down as companionship manager, and we were dellghted to
welcome loana Goga to take 0￿r in July
Vicky Griffin also stepp&J down and we welcomed Eddie Thorne in March as KNA'S new
Communicats'ons & Matheting As￿stant.
I give thanks to Abi Palmer, our DirectrK, Gail, Operations Manager. loana and EddKJ, our office
volunteers and those who volunteer their help for our ¢lients. Together you have continued to
spond cheethlty and professionalty over the last year to provide t￿ best Possib￿ seMGe to our
client5. thank you.
And finally many thanks to our clients. without wlKim there would be no KNA. Thank you for working
with us, for being patient when we newj to get back to you. arKI for your kiThJ words of thank5,
Judi Braddock
