Commentary on the Trustees’ Annual Report and accounts: LOVE BURLEY (1196085)
The report provided by the new trustees covers the period December 31[st] , 2024 to December 31[st] , 2025, 3 months during which, the new trustees had no control of the charities operation. This report has been prepared using the information at hand by the new trustees who were appointed in March 2025. The report to the best of our belief, represents the report that outgoing trustees might have prepared.
New trustees elected for the for year to focus solely on providing support via the Wellbeing Hub, whose aims continue to support the mental health and wellbeing of residents aged 18-years and older. All other activities provided by the charity were suspended in late 2024.
The Trustees’ Annual Report
Love Burley remained committed to providing Wellbeing support in the local community, with weekly sessions held throughout the year in the village of Burley in Wharfedale. These wellbeing sessions continue to be well attended by residents and supported by a small, dedicated group of medical professionals.
The Wellbeing Hub, supported by Love Burley, provides wellbeing advice to around 200 people annually.
We would like to thank everyone who volunteered and who helped the Love Burley. We recognise that much of what we have provided during 2025, couldn’t have been achieved without your help.
This year has proved extremely challenging from the standpoint of fundraising. Whilst opportunities exist, it has proved difficult to secure funding given many of the barriers in funding tenders.
Fundraising and Purpose
Love Burley must recruit trustees in 2025 if the charity is to remain operational, and work is taking place to ensure that the charitable work provided to the community continues.
It is important that new trustees, once recruited, direct their attention to organising the charities strategic aims and goals, recognising Love Burley’s historical aims.
There was some fundraising during 2025 whilst we consolidated existing activity and looked at potential new charitable activity.
There are 2 new areas of activity which we hope to fund in late 2026, although anticipate that these are unlikely to commence until early 2027. The ambition is to provide:

Advice and guidance for people struggling with probate following the death of a loved one. Love Burley has assessed the probate process and has had input from those suffering a recent bereavement. This will shape our direction of travel going forward

Love Burley are also investigating the need to provide children’s welfare via a partner organisation. The focus is to help children under 18-years old boost their social skills. This will include public speaking, public performance, mixing with others of a similar age, all with the aim of providing children with the opportunity and skills not currently available to them.
This is an area which requires considerable funding. Whilst we have sought funding from external organisations, this represents a real challenge given current economic outlook and available funding streams.
