Commentary on the Trustees’ Annual Report and accounts: LOVE BURLEY (1196085)
At the end of 2024, Love Burley’s trustees had resigned, consequently this report has been prepared using the information at hand by the new trustees who were appointed in March 2025. The report to the best of our belief, represents the report that outgoing trustees might have prepared.
Much of the work which Love Burley carried out has come to an end. However, at least one strand of our charitable work remained throughout the course of 2024 and continues today.
The Trustees’ Annual Report
Love Burley remained committed to providing Wellbeing support in the local community, with weekly sessions held throughout the year in the village of Burley in Wharfedale. These wellbeing sessions continue to be well attended by residents and supported by a small, dedicated group of medical professionals.
The Wellbeing Hub, supported by Love Burley, provides wellbeing advice to around 200 people annually.
Unique Charity.
In November 2024, the Unique Charity, closed, transferring remaining funding in the sum of £796.55 to support the ‘Slice of Life’ project run by Burley in Wharfedale Methodist Church, whose aims closely align with those of Love Burley.
The Slice of Life is a new project bringing young people (11-18) together for great pizza, real connection, and a safe space to explore life, faith, and friendship.
We would like to thank everyone who volunteered and who helped the Love Burley. We recognise that much of what we have provided during 2024, couldn’t have been achieved without your help.
Fundraising and Purpose
Love Burley must recruit trustees in 2025 if the charity is to remain operational, and work is taking place to ensure that the charitable work provided to the community continues.
It is important that new trustees, once recruited, direct their attention to organising the charities strategic aims and goals, recognising Love Burley’s historical aims.
No fundraising activity has been undertaken during 2024, although new trustees note that some small donations have been received during the financial year.
