To promote In the area of benefit wlthout dlstinction of sex or of political,rellglous or other oplnlons by assoclatlon
with the local authorities,voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to 3dvance educ3tion and to
provide facilities in the Interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of
improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
The trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what artivities the
charity should undertake.
The trustees confirm that they have cotnplied with the requi￿rnents of Section 17 of the Charitie5 Act 2011 to have due
regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit.

The Charity is primarily funded through the letting of moms within the community centre to local residents and

It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be maintained
at a level equivalent to between three and six month's expenditure. The trustees consider that reserves at this level will
ensure that, In the event of a significant drop In funding, they will be able to continue the charity's current activities while
consideration 15 given to way5 in which additional fund5 tnay be raised. The Tru5tee5 have maintained a reserve of

year ended 30 September 2025.

As the Charity trustees you are responsible for the preparation or the accounts In accordance wlth the reouirements of the
Charities Act 2011 I-the Art-l.
We report In respect of our examination of the Charity's accounts Carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in
carrying out our examination. we have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section
14515llbl of the Act.

We have cotnpleted our examination. We confirm that no rnaterial rnatters have corne to our attention in connection with the

l. General Information

registered charity number 1196037. The principal address is The New Bury Community Centre, I Charles Place, Bury St
Edmunds, Surrolk, IP32 6TD.

2. 1. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements
The financial sratements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP IFRS 1021 "Accounting and
Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS L021 (effective I
January 20191. Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic
of Ireland and the Charitie5 Act 2011.
The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102.
2.2. Going Concern Disclosure
The trustees have not identified any material uncertainties related to events or conditions that may cast significant
dtsubt about the charity's ability to continue as a going concern.
2.3. Incoming Resources
Income is recognised when the Charity is legally entitled to it after any performance conditions have been ￿et, the
amounts can be measured reliablyj and it is probable that income will be received.
Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donation5 are recognised once the charity ha5 been notified of the
donarion, unless performance conditlons require leferral of the amount. Income tax recoverable In relatlon to
donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is recognised at the time of the donation.
Legacies a￿ ￿cOgnised on ￿CeIpt or otherwise if the charity has been notified of an impending distribution,
the amount is known, and receipt is experted. If the amount is not known, the legacy is treated as a contingent asset.
2.4. Resources Expended
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to transfer economic benefit to a third party,
it is pmbable that a transfer of econornic benefits will be required in settlement, and the amount of the obligation can
be measured reliably.
Expenditure 15 classified by activity. The costs of each activity are made up of the total of direct costs and shared
costs, including support Costs involved in undertaking each activity. Direct cost5 attributable to a single activity are
allocated dlrecriy to that actlvity. Shared costs whlch contribute to more than one activity and support costs which are
not attrlbutable to a single activlty are apportloned between those activities on a basls tonsistent with the use of
resources. Centr81 sraff costs are allocaied on the basis of time spent, and depreclation charges are allocated on the
portion of the asset's use.
2.5. Investment Properties
All investment properties are carried at fair value determined annually and derived from the current market rents and
investment property yields for comparable real estate. adjusted if necessary for any difference in the nature, location
or condition of the Specific a55et. No depreciation 15 pmvided for. Changes in fair value are recognised in the Statement
of financial activitie5.
2.6. Cash and C•$h Equivalent$
Cash and cash equivalent5 are basic financial assets and include cash in hand and dep051ts held at call with banks,
other short-term highly liquid Investments that mature in no more than three months from the date of acqulsltlon and
are readily convertible to a known amount of cash with Insignificant risk of change In v31ue, and bank overdrafts.

2.7. Financial Instruments
The charity ha5 elected to apply the provisions of Section 11 'Ba5ic Financial Instruments, and Section 12 '0ther
Financial Instruments Issues, OF FRS 102 to all of its financial instruments.
Financial instruments are recognised in the charity's balance sheet when the charity becomes party to the
contractual provisions of the instrument.
Financial assets and liabilities afft Offset, with the net amounts pfftsented in the financial statements, when there is a
legally enforceable right to set off the recognised amounts and there is an intention to settle on a net basis or to
realise the asset and settle the liability simultaneously.
Basic flnancial assets
Basic financial a55ets. which include debtor5 and cash and bank balance5. are initially rneasured at transaction price
including transaction Costs and are subsequently carried at amortised c05t using the effective interest ￿ethOd unless
the arongement constitutes a financing tftn5aCtion, where the transaction is rnea5ured at the present value of the
future recelprs discounted at a market rate of Interest. Flnancial assets classlfied as recelvable wlthln one year are not
amortised.
Baslc flnanclal Ilabllltles
Basic financial liabilities, including creditors and bank loans are initially recognised at transaction price unless the
arrangement constitutes a financing transaction. where the debt Instrument is measured at the present value of the
future pay￿entS discounted a market rate of interest. Financial liabilitie5 classified as payable within one year are
not amortised.
Debt instrutnent5 are 5ub5equently carried at arnort15ed cost, Using the effective interest ￿te rnethod. Trade creditors
are obligations to pay For goods or services that have been acquired in the ordinary course of operations from
suppliers. Amounts payable are classified as current liabilities If p3yment is due within one year or less. If not, they are
presented as non-current liabilities. Trade creditors are recognised Initially at transaction price and subsequently
easured at amort15ed cost using the effective interest rnethod.
Derecognition of financial liabilities
Financial liabilities are derecognised when the charity's contractual obligation5 expire or are discharged or cancelled.
2.8. Taxation
The Charity is exempt from tax on incotne and gains falling within section 505 of the Taxes Act 1988 or section
252 of the Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992 to the extent that these are applied to its charitable objects.
2.9. Employee Benefits
The costs of short-temi employee benefits are recognised as a liability and an expense. unless those costs are required
to be ￿COgniSed as part of the cost of stock of fixed assets.
The cost of any unused holiday entitlement is recognised in the period in which the employee's services are received.
Termination benefits are recognised immediately as an expense when the charity is demonstrably committed to
terminare the employment of an employee or to provide termination benefits.
2. 10. Pensions
The charlty operaies a defined pension contrlbutlon scheme. Contrlbutions are charged to the Statement of Financial
Activitles as they become payable In accordance with the rules of the scheme.

14. Penslon Commltments
The charity operates a defined contribution pension scheme. The assets of the scherne are held separately from those of the
charity in an independently adtninistered fund.
