Humans In Need is constituted as an incorporated charity, controlled by trustees and registered on 04 October 2021 under charity number 1196034

Organisation structure

The charity trustees will be responsible for the general control and management of the charity.

Recruitment and appointment of trustees

In the coming years, Humans in Need will seek to identify individuals who are committed to its mission and demonstrate a strong willingness to contribute their time and skills toward the charity’s objectives. Potential trustees will be invited to attend trustee meetings as observers, where they will learn more about the charity’s aims and activities. If all agree, they will then be proposed as new trustees at a subsequent trustee meeting. This process will ensure due consideration of the person's eligibility, personal competence, specialist knowledge, and skills.

Induction and training of trustees

Following appointment, new trustees will be introduced to their role and provided with copies of the trust deed and a guide to the policies and procedures adopted by our charity. A number of publications from the Charity Commission will also be provided, including guidance on charities and public benefit. This will ensure that new trustees are aware of the scope of their responsibilities under the Charities Act. Initially, new trustees will work alongside an existing trustee to assist in particular activities and projects run by the charity. After satisfactory feedback from existing trustees, they will then be given the task of leading a particular activity or project and report progress at trustee meetings.

3

Risk Management

The trustees will assess the risks the charity faces and will develop a risk matrix that identifies the major risks by area of activity. The trustees will ensure that appropriate systems are put in place, or arrangements are made, to manage the identified risks effectively.

Objectives and activities

Our aim

The objects of the charity are set out in the charity’s trust deed and are summarized as follows:

The principal aims and objectives of Humans in Need will be to provide essential services to relieve poverty and disability. The charity will focus on providing clean water, sanitation, and other essential services to improve the well-being of disadvantaged communities.

Our objectives

Our objectives will be aligned with our mission to prevent and relieve poverty. Each year, our trustees will review our objectives and activities to ensure they continue to reflect our aims. In carrying out this review, the trustees will consider the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit. Our long-term goal will be to expand our reach and services to support more vulnerable individuals in Bangladesh, Ghana, and Lebanon.

Strategies

Humans in Need will aim to become an accessible and effective platform for poverty relief and disability support. We will be committed to setting up sustainable clean water and sanitation projects, as well as expanding our services to improve the living conditions of the communities we serve.

Use of volunteers

Volunteers will play a vital role in delivering our services. They will be involved in implementing clean water projects, raising awareness, and organizing community support activities. Our trustees will also contribute their time freely. We will encourage all members of the community to participate in voluntary activities and share their skills for the betterment of society.

Grant-making policy

The charity will raise funds through donations and grants to support its initiatives. We will seek financial contributions from donors and organizations committed to poverty alleviation and improving the quality of life for disadvantaged communities.

The charity does not have any funding sources right now , but by the next period the website will have been established and advertised. The charity’s main source of income will be through donations from individuals, corporate sponsors, and grant-making organizations. Fundraising events will also be held to support the charity’s work.

Plans for future periods

The Charity has created a website, hoping to attract more donations from wider communities who support our objectives. It is seeking to expand water well projects as well as building a school and playground for the benefit of the poorer children. It is also seeking to provide orphan shelter projects, food parcels, Zakat and other such noble causes.

Statement of Trustees’ responsibilities

The charity trustees are responsible for preparing an annual report and financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).

The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the charity trustees to prepare financial statements for each year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that period.

In preparing the financial statements, the trustees are required to:

a) select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP;

b) make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business.

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 1993, the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed.
