## **GOVERNING DOCUMENT:** 

The charity is governed by CIO Constitution, and was incorporated with the Charity Commission on the 01/10/2021 

## _**1) WHO ARE WE?**_ 

We are a charitable company organization that welcomes everybody regardless their Race, Religion, Ethnic group, Disability and Sex. We have put a focus on supporting aspiring and professional footballers. The charity has set out to tackle prevalent issues deemed to be major concerns for footballers. Such as: lack of emotional support for football players when they are released, psychological effects of long-term injuries, financial literacy skills and mental health issues e.g. depression,  suicide  and  burnout.  In  addition,  post-release  matters  such  as, finding  employment,  self-image  issues  and  finding  a  new  purpose,  will  be addressed by the charity. 

## _**2) AIMS:**_ 

_The  main  functions  of  the  charity  will  be  carried  out  by  a  team  of  hired professionals and  qualified  trainers. Our team of professionals, trainers and volunteers will assist in the lifestyle mentoring and the running of well-being workshops, the qualified professionals will run the career and cv workshops and volunteers will ensure the smooth running of events, helplines and provide further administrative assistance to mentors and members of the organization._ 

_Similarly, a team of professional footballers will collaborate with the qualified trainers and  coaches  to  provide  enriched  coaching  sessions  and  mentoring workshops. The qualified health professionals will provide ad-hoc assistance to the  running  of our therapy, holistic hubs and 24hr help lines. The  team of volunteers  and  pro  footballers  will  provide  support  on  various  match  days, tournaments and scouting games provided by the charity._

_The provision of all mental health issues, emotional well-being will all be carried out by trained health professionals and qualified staff members. The provision of all advice relating to critical child care issues, financial debts, domestic abuse will only be handled by our trusted team of health care professionals and legal networks at hand. All fortuitous issues arising out of our scope will be dealt with immediate effect with notice to the police, social services, local authorities as set out in our guidelines._ 

_We  plan  to  work  with  organisations  such  as  job  centres,  learning  centres, community centres, professional football teams and stadiums to use their venue spaces, rooms to facilitate workshops and events where necessary. The charity will hire a space and rooms within local community and within football clubs and training grounds during pre-season/off seasons as and when required._ 

_We will also work alongside local council and authorities to provide a list of youths or areas that may need support. We will work collaboratively with other football trusts and the football player liaison officers to provide further guidance to footballers during off seasons, loans and long-term injuries._ 

_We will also work closely with the local health authority to provide short term accommodation to young children going through family issues._ 

## **3) BENEFICIARIES:** 

The Christian Mbulu Trust aims to help young people aged from 11-18 years old. 

Aspiring/professional footballers. 

BAME youths in and around London. 

Socially disadvantaged youth. 

## _**4) OBJECTS:**_ 

The charity will empower and educate the everyday lifestyle needs and emotional well-being  neglected  or  inadequately  supported  within  young  adults  and footballers. The charity’s objects: in particular, but not exclusively will benefit those of the BAME community, living in England. The charity will give, sustain and enhance young adults and footballers in self-image, finding purpose, life values, sense of responsibility, career plans, adulting, family and relationship issues and much more.

## **5) REVIEW OF THE YEAR: 2022-2023**

## _**FINANCES: (INSERT TOTAL INCOMES RECEIVED IN 2023)**_ 

## **ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT:** 

Given the actual state of the financial situation of our charity, we were not able to provide as many projects as we anticipated to, however we used the rest of the year building a strong team so they are ready and have all the tools needed to support the young people moving forward. 

**Planning for a better future:** We will plan to network with other charities who are  also  supporting  young  aspiring/professional  footballers, in  order to  build partnerships to enable or charity to grow.  We also plan to network with football teams in and around London. We will also be reaching out to local authorities and local schools starting around Barking and Dagenham to inform them on our services. 

## **6) ACHIEVEMENT OF THE YEAR: 2022 – 2023** 

During the year of 2022-2023, we raised £980 From the annual Chris Mbulu Cup match and the sponsored walk. 

During the year of 2022-2023, our Co-Ordinator Richie Idemudia participated in tough mudder a world-class obstacle course in which he raised £735. 

During the year of 2022-2023, Project 17- a project by professional footballer Alexander Iwobi hosted a football tournament. They raised £1000 and donated to the Chris Mbulu Trust. 

## _**The following works and Activities have been carried out:**_ 

- We also hosted a sponsored walk from Oxlow lane to Aveley football stadium which was a 7-mile walk. We had a good turn out and members of the community completed the walk and raised money.

- We also had our 3[rd] annual Chris Mbulu Cup football match. London Vs Manchester where we had over 300 people turn up and support the charity. 

- We also collaborated with Project 17- a project by Alexander Iwobi in a football team which attracted over 300 guests. 

**Audited  Accounts** :  Given  the  actual  state  of  our  financial  situation,  we are not able to provide an account prepared by a professional accountant as requested by the charity law, so following on the lower income for this year, we have been able to prepare a breakdown of income and expenditure. 

##  **BENEFICIARIES FOR THE YEAR 2022-2023** 

Number of people attended the events: 600 

## 7) **NOTICES:** 

- We, as the trustees of this charitable organization, we can say that  we  can  look  back  on  the  year  2022-2023  with  some satisfaction.  We are very glad and happy to see the projects and programmers of the CHRISTIAN MBULU TRUST continuing to work and develop for the benefit of our community, and people who are really in need of help and assistance from us. 

- We are determined to work hard in pursuing and achieve the aims and objects that our organization is committed to deliver in the future. 

- We are grateful to all those who have been working with us during this year of our organization business, thus in order to try and help us to achieve and succeed in the objects and projects that we have planned.

- For The year 2023-2024 we are planning  to work hard and implement some of the projects that will help and benefit the community, so we are still waiting for more funding to come through, as we have made various applications for grants to different funding bodies and grants making organizations. 

- All trustees have agreed to take on and implement different issues that were given as responsibilities. 

- All management committee members to make and keep their contribution up date. 

- All management committee members to try and find different ways of getting funding for the organization. 

## **PLANNING FOR THE YEAR 2023-2024** 

- Training for THE CHRIS MBULU TRUST committee members on different subjects such as:  Fund-raising course, Mentoring training, youth work training, first aid training. 

- Running different projects and activities that we have planned to carry out during the last year. 

- Applying for funding and grants in order to try and stabilize the financial situation of the CHRIS MBULU TRUST to be able to expand our activities in and around London. 

- Looking to work in partnership with other organizations and voluntary groups.
