|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|During this financial period the projects have<br>worked directly with around 100<br>beneficiaries – young people aged between<br>11 – 18 from Darwen and the surrounding<br>areas who come from socioeconomic<br>deprivation and who are recognised as<br>marginalised and hard to reach. Both<br>projects were user led and remained<br>dynamic throughout. All young attendees<br>were engaged in activities pertinent to their<br>interests and were encouraged to work<br>towards accreditation were appropriate. All<br>were fed and given refreshments whilst<br>attending the projects – this was deemed<br>necessary as many young people were not<br>adequately eating at home. Many of the<br>young people were frequently absent from<br>mainstream education, however, there was a<br>significant increase in attendance post<br>project.|
