FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31[ST] DECEMBER 2025
OBJECTIVES & ACTIVITIES
The main objective of the Charity is to promote, advance and improve for the benefit of the public, agriculture, horticulture and rural crafts and skills by the demonstration and showing of livestock, machinery, crafts, products, methods and processes connected with agriculture and agricultural education in particular by the holding of annual agricultural and equestrian shows.
ACHIEVEMENTS & PERFORMANCE
Gilsland Agricultural Society held their annual agricultural show during the summer of 2025; a successful event which met the organisations objectives and expectations.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
The charity made a surplus of £1,063 over the year due to increased entries, sponsorship, greater number of people attending the show and another successful social event.
The reserve policy of the charity is to hold sufficient funds to ensure the organisation could continue, should it, for two years running, have to cancel annual shows ‘on the day’ due to unforeseen circumstances. It is estimated that the cost of doing so would be in excess of £10,000, and hence the Charity is comfortably holding reserves of £21,320
