The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose, with reasonable accuracy at any time, the financial position of the charity and which enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with applicable Accounting Standards and Statements of Recommended Practice and the regulations made under Section 154 of the Charities Act 2011. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. 2 CARLINGHOW ISLAMIC TRUST REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31ST MARCH 2022 The trustees present their report and the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31st March 2022. These financial statements are prepared in accordance with the charity's trust deed and the recommendations of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice and comply with applicable law. ## 1. Structure, Governance and Management The charity is under the governance of its Trustees, as set out on page 1 of the Financial Statements. The day to day management of the Charity is undertaken by the Trustees. ## 2. Objectives and Activities The charity has acquired and developed 1 Ings Road, Batley in order to develop a Mosque which can be used by members of the community. This includes prayer sessions as well as educational sessions for younger children. When planning the activities for the year, the trustees have considered the Commission's guidance on public benefit. ## 3. Achievements and Performance The Charity achieved its objectives during the year, as set out above. ## 4. Financial Review The trustees have accumulated over £16,724 cash at bank and in hand to enable completion of the mosque development as of the year end. Donations continue to be taken and all work set out at the incorporation of the charity for the first year has been completed. Going forward, the charity is in a good financial position to continue improvement works. This report was appproved and authorised for issue by the trustees on 19th January 2023 and signed on their behalf by: Mr A S Variava ## Chairman 3 ## INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF CARLINGHOW ISLAMIC TRUST I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31st March 2022 which are set out on pages 5 to 6. ## Responsibilities and Basis of Report As the trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act'). I report in respect of my examination of the charity's financial statements carried out under Section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under Section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act. ## Independent Examiner's Statement I have completed my examination. I can confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: - (a) accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity required by Section 130 of the Act; or - (b) the financial statements do not accord with those records. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the financial statements to be reached.
