ANNUAL REPORT – 4[th] November 2025 Period 01/04/2024 - 31/03/2025
There has been no income; therefore no financial report is available – this will be the status of the charity for the next 2years as outlined below.
For this last year the Charity Founder (Belinda Chideme), undertook a service specification evaluation project and equity audit comparing the work of the Charity with similar ones in London. Main outcomes:
-
As the Charity no longer operates in Wales, the objects need to be updated to reflect this and to include Kent.
-
It was difficult to deliver services as the highest need was mental health - as a result the Charity is going to focus the next 3years on building its capapcity to support familes experiencing the type of poor mental health which does not meet the threshold of statutory services.
-
There was also a need to support families to access affordable clothing and equipment. This also included supporting families to navigate the NHS - where they have a child with additional needs.
-
The organisation will seek partnerships with academic researchers interested in collaborating to further the objects of the Charity - this will be specifically looking at the impact of ostpartum preeclampsia as a form of birth trauma.
-
The Charity will also undertake international research to compare outcomes for children (under 18’s) in regards to sexual reproductive health and mental health. In the UK teen pregnancy has decreased - it however remains high in areas of low income and sexually transmitted infections have increased over-all. The purpose is to learn what works and indentify what can be replicated / introduced to UK based communities.
-
Disfragmentation between services the Charity needs to collobaorate with (i.e. other organisations which either make referrals or deliver services), most common issue is staffing challenges related to conflict or HR issues and absences due to illnesses.
The above has led to reviewing how the Charity operates, how it need sto proceed and an outcome, is that there will be a need to change the structure of the Charity to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, to enable the Founder to deliver services; such as Breathworks meditation and Psychotherapy (which will take 3years to complete). Subsequently, as the Founder is the main activist for the Charity and the fact that the changes will take upto 3years to achieve, the activities of the Charity will cease or take a pause, during this time. An annual report will be provided each year, to outline the progress being made to transition the Charity.
