**Friends of Burlington School Charity number 1195931** ## **Trustees annual report for the period 1[st] September 2024 to 31[st] August 2025** ## _**Reference and administration details**_ Friends of Burlington School (charity number 1195931) is based at Burlington School, School Road, Kirkby in Furness, Cumbria LA17 7UH. ## _**Trustees**_ Rachel Ritchie Alexandra Mason Samantha Wilkinson ## _**Structure, Governance and Management**_ The charity is governed by its Constitution as adopted on 31[st] January 2017 and is administered by trustees selected by appointment. ## _**Objectives**_ The Charity’s objective is to advance the education of pupils at Burlington School by developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school and by engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school. ## _**Achievements and performance**_ During the year the Friends of Burlington School raised money by running events for the pupils such as discos, a Christmas fair and a talent show. We also received a large donation from a local business. The Friends of Burlington School have supported the school by contributing towards the refurbishment of a classroom, the refit of the playground as well as smaller outdoor projects and reading resources. ## _**Financial review**_ The Charity received income of £61859.52 this year (2024 - £52054.12) , £51677.50 of this was from a restricted donation. Expenditure totalled £68617.46 (2024 - £25125.65). This created a deficit of £6757.94 and thus reduced the reserves brought forward from £83910.69 (2024) to £77152.75. At the year end unrestricted reserves totalled £14485.35 and restricted reserves of £62667.40 The reserve policy of the Charity is to hold sufficient funds to meet its day to day liabilities as they fall due. I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examinalion, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145151(b) of the Act.
