Trustee Annual Report and Financial Statement 2021/22 Reporting Period

The charity's main activities

Blackdog Outdoors is a charity that supports and promotes a re-connection with nature to improve mental health and wellbeing. We achieve this through organised events that we plan and run and are free to attend by those affected by poor mental health. Our events are free to attend (apart from navigation and mountain skills courses), are led by qualified outdoor professionals, and supported by Mental Health First Aid trained volunteers, to create a safe and supportive environment.

Public benefit statement

Blackdog Outdoors is committed to the mental health and wellbeing of people through a reconnection with nature.

Our events, delivered by qualified outdoor professionals and supported by Mental Health First Aid trained volunteers, allow the attendees to engage in outdoor recreation with confidence, in turn meeting like-minded people, and learning how to access the outdoors responsibly.

The charity was registered as a CIO Foundation on 21[st] September 2021, however, due to delays in setting up the charity bank account, we have not yet gone through the dissolution process of the unincorporated Trust (1189191). Our achievements and performance for this reporting period are therefore recorded on the TAR for 1189191.

Trustee Annual Report and Financial Statement 2021/22 Reporting Period

Financial Report

Our bank account was not activated within the reporting period. We have been unable to transfer assets from the previous charity (1189191), hence we have no financial review in this period.

Going concern

Despite not yet being able to transfer assets, the trustees are satisfied that there are no concerns or uncertainties about the charity's ability to continue delivering its activities. There is an agreement in principle to transfer all assets from charity 1189191, and dissolve that charity, once the new bank account has been activated. The bank account activation is expected by the end of April 2022.

Taxation

As a charity the organisation will benefit from rates relief and will generally be exempt from income tax and capital gains tax but not from VAT. The trustees have taken an action to confirm this with HMRC when the new bank account is activated.

Trustee renumeration and benefits

No trustees received renumeration or benefits during the reporting period.

This report was approved by the board of trustees on 28/6/2022 at a regular Trustee meeting.

Signed
