Para 1.17 | The objects of the CIO are: (a) To promote human rights (as set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and subsequent United Nations conventions and declarations (“the UNCRC”) throughout the world, in particular the child’s right to play, leisure and cultural activities, by all or any of the following means: (i) providing technical advice to government and others; (ii) promoting public support for the UNCRC; (iii) promoting respect for human rights among individuals and corporations. (b) To provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for play, recreation or other leisure time occupation of children throughout the world who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life. |

It provides a forum for exchange and action across disciplines and across sectors. IPA’s purpose is to protect, preserve and promote the child’s right to play as a fundamental human right. IPA operates a membership scheme. This year time has been focussed on ensuring the new is CIO is sufficiently provided with systems and policies to enable it to be fit for its purpose. We have engaged with our members and other NGOs internationally to ensure that children’s need to play is better understood and provided for The Board of directors meet monthly via zoom. |

We have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit when reviewing our aim and objectives and in planning our future activities. In particular, the trustees consider how planned activities will contribute to the aims and objectives they have set. |

During the past period IPA World Board has advocated and promoted Article 31 and General Comment 17 across a range of international events and conferences maintaining a presence for IPA World both through physical attendance and online. We have continued to provide online Newsletters and an On line magazine |
