TAR
MBrd) 2012

In p18nning our activities for the year, we kept in mind the Charity Commission's
guidance on publtc benefit at our trustees meetings.
The main activities are Crisis Requests, Holiday Hunger Campaign & Christmas
Hamper Campaign.
Our Crisis Request referrals run throughout the year and demand 1$ increasing
year on year as we become more prominent in the community. We accept
referrals from pmfessionals working with the most vulnerable in our area and offer
support to those in crisis due to their personal circumstances. This could be due to
circumstances such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown. unemployment,
domestic violence etc. Our main support is beds, bedding and food but is not
limited. Our bed campaign continues to grow and we have had support from the
Community to provide much needed beds and bedding. The importance of a clean
and comfortable place lo sleep cannot be understated. Sleep is vital for
maintaining good mental and physical health and helps tr) repair and restore Ihe
brain as well as the body. Children who have a good night's sleep perform better
at school thus impacting positively on their educational outcomes.
Summary of the main activities
undertaken for the public
benefit in relation to these
objects (include withln th18
section the ststutory
de¢laration that trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commlssion on public benefit)
Our Holiday Hunger Campaign ran at Easter and Summer school holidays with
more schools requesting food for their families in need. Poverty is rife in our
community and our donated food bags are vital lo enable parents to feed their
children during the school holidays when they don't have access to free school
meals or school based food clubs. Basic store cupboard food items are provided
as a base for a nutritional meal which can help p￿vent malnutrition. Children with
malnutrition are more susceptible to infection and more likely to access NHS
services.
Our Christmas Hamper Campaign continues to grow each year with nominations
from our referral partners such as Schools, local authority teams and other local
charities. We do not accept self-referrals but rely on the professional judgment of
our partner agencies targeting those in financial hardship who would not be able
to provide food and gffts for their family alleviating some of the stress and having a
positive effect on health and well-being. Past recipients of the hampers contintje to
contsct us to support notjust our Christmas Hamper Campaign but also with our
Crisis Requests reaching out lo help those now in need as they were once. The
support from our community has been amazing and continues to bind the
community together. Local college students contintje to volunteer and this year
also organised the collection and making of their own hampers to be donated in
support ofother young people who we support in the community. This has
benefrted the students to understand the social make up of their community and
understsnd the differing needs of the wider community.
Additional details of objectives and actlvitles (Optional infomiallon)
We continue lo be well supported by the local community who recognise the value
of what we do.
As we reach out using social media platfoms, more and more of our community
want to be involved and contribute to our campaigns.
You may ¢hoose to include
further statements, where
relevant, about..
policy on grantmaking.,
policy programme related
investment.,
contribLrtion made by
volunteers.
Our team of dedicated volunteers are invaluable lo us and we hope to develop
fvrther the roles within the organisation to involve more people.
We cannot thank our supporters and volunleers enough for their continued
support throughout the year.

Section D
Achievements and performance
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the yoar
Our Crisis Referrals continuing lo increase year on year as we support families
in crisis across Teesside. We continue to ￿ceIve an average one referral per
day requesting support for a variety of items including beds, bedding, wardrobes,
drawers, small household items and fo¢xl. We anticipate the need for our support
will continue to glow as household budgets are stretched due to the cost of
living.
Our Holiday Hunger Campaigns continue to provide support for families who
struggle lo feed their children during the holidays. We supported around 35 local
schools with either food bags or supermarket vouchers and this number
continues to Tise as other schools become aware of our support for families.
Our 2024 Christmas Hamper Campaign was the18rgest so far and around 1850
families were nominated across the TS postcode area. Many local businesses
now support us year on year, for which we are very grateful. We continue lo
receive ongoing free SLJPPOrt with our website and hamper portal.
Our fvndraising activities continued this year. We would like lo thank local
company Applebridge for choosing us as their Charity of the Year. The company
and staff contributed massively to our Bed & Bedding campaign and we offer our
sincere thanks. We also have a small number of regular personal donations,
plus m2ny other individuals who donate lo us on a one off basis. We also
receive donations from businesses and other local charities which a￿ a lifeline
for us.
We held 3 fundraising events during the year..
In May 2024, instead of our Ball, the trustees decided on an Afternoon Event at
Middlesbrough Golf Club. Over 100 people attended and we were blessed not
just with fantastic weather bul also good food and lovely entertainment. A lovely
afternoon was had by all and the event raised much needed funds.
In October 2024 we held a fundraising Charity Night at North Omiesby WMC.
Once again it was a fantastic evening of fun and music and we thank the venue
for supporting us both with the room and DJ.
Our Afternoon Tea was held in March 2025 and Continues to be a very popular
fundraising event with the tickets selling Out within 2 days. We continue lo be
Stjpported by Slainton Memorial Hall who allow us lo use the venue for free and
the local music group provides entertainment, again free of charge. Their
continued support is very much appreciated.
Our nebmork of volunteers continues to grow with more businesses contacting us
lo become involved. We would like to thank Suez for their continued support
throughout the year.
We would also like to thank the small number of volunteers who help u5 on a
week lo week basis with our Holiday Hunger Campaign and Crisis Requests.
We also have a large number of volunteers that support us with our Christmas
Hamper Campaign and we are extremely gratefvl for such amazing support.
In September 2024, we were extremely proud to be re¢ognised at the Teesside
Businesswomen Awards for our work in the Community when we were awarded
the Charity I Voluntary Award.

Section E
Financial review
Cash al bank at 0510412025 was £56184 in unrestricted funds plus £947 in gift
vouchers. The main financial risk to the charity is loss of donatEons due to
personal financial uncertainty due to the continued current economic crisis. We
continue to fundraise but this is only a small part of our income- we rely on local
individuals and business for the majority of Ouf income and we continue to
pursue the involvement of local businesses.
Brief statement of tho
charlty's policy on reserves
The fttnds are h61d as the Trustees continue to plan priorities for the short,
medium and long term future of the Charity. The trustees, who are all volunteers
with other work I personal commitments, continue lo support whenever
requested and foresee that the need for support will increase as the charity
status becomes more Pfominent in the community.
