Section C Objectives and activities

Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document

To provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life.

Each year our Trustees review our objectives and activities to ensure they continue to reflect our aims. In carrying out this review the Trustees have considered the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit. The Trustees have complied with the duty in section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to public benefit guidance published by the Commission.

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

The Charity is responsible for the management of the activities of the Armenian Community Centre at 18D High Street, Llandaff CF3 2DZ. The Trustees have continued to provide a suitable and convenient place for the Armenian Community & members of other communities for cultural and social activities to improve the life of the members and to assist families in settling in the UK as well as aid for Humanitarian crisis.

The Charity has also fundraised and provided aid directly to Armenian families forcibly displaced from Artsakh (Nagorno Karabagh) in 2023. Distribution of Aid was led by a member of trustees; a summary of the activities is presented to the Charity and trustees.

Between 9 to 17 November 2023, 114 out of 226 refugees (15 out of 70 households) were reached as part of ACC(W)’s Aid for Artsakh Children in need project. The monitoring activities helped to identify protection risks, discuss their most urgent needs & help them obtain essential household items to help them se le in their temporary houses as a short-term solution. In addition, 3 families were supported to restart their honey-making and cake baking business to encourage micro businesses in a new environment.
