## _Trustees Report 2024_

As I sit to write this report I am once again struck by the incredible amount of work that Carrie and her committed team of staff and volunteers do, and do to such a high standard.

Once again we have seen a year where the demand for our services has increased exponentially and this has brought further strain on our small team and limited resources and yet we still grasp every opportunity to show people that they are valued and cared for, unconditionally.

Our partnership with Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, Changes Programme has continued to develop and we are still running Sensory Play, Messy Play and Little Chefs sessions throughout the week. These are free at the point of use to Sandwell residents and provide a vital point of consistent contact for parents as well as providing a space for babies and toddlers to learn some vital key skills. Our involvement in the Family Hub network has grown over the year and Carrie has been busy building connections and helping other partners see the difference New Beginnings makes in our community, whilst inspiring them to try some new ideas in their areas.

Little Fish has been a constant as it has been for every year we have had it. It is again a vital space for community to grow and strengthen, all whilst the kids can play and create in a safe and stimulating environment.

Baby Bundles demand has soared in the last year and whilst at times this has been challenging, our team has risen to this challenge and ensured that these most vulnerable people in our community have the essential they need.

No reflection on the past year could be complete without a mention of our visit to the garden party at Buckingham Palace when Carrie and I had a brief chat with His Majesty the King. It was an amazing day in a place I never dreamed I would be. As I think about our New Beginnings family and the amazing things we do I must admit to a sense of pride in what we have created and I am forever thankful that we have Carrie and her amazing team of staff and committed volunteers to show our community what belonging and being truly valued looks like.

I commend this report to you and hope as you read it you get a sense of how special this community is.
