The chaTily has been founded by the ainalg?amatioii of two cliarities, The Jei'emiah Inns Almshouse Chai'ity (chai'ity number.. 213088) and The John Inns Alinshouse Cl)arity (chai'ity numbei.: 213087). This is with the aim of enhaiicillg tlie Capacity to deliver greater public benefit to both th¢ Stevenage and Aston local aJEas. ObJ¢etlves and Aetivites The charity's objects are the provision and maintcnanc¢ of alinshouses for the benefit of elderly and poor pei'sons within the Stevenage and Aston are aiid to mak¢ grants and allowances to the same areas. The policies adopted in furtherance of these objects are to build suslaiiiable unreslricted reserves to a sufficient level to provide finan¢ial slability, meet exceptional eKpenditUTe and to assist with tlie future development of the charity and there has been no change in these during the year. Achffievements and Performance During the year, the charity provided affoi'dablc ac¢oiModalion for people of limited means in the Stevenagc and Aston areas, which are areas of high housing cost. Financial Revieiy This year is the first yeai. of activity for The Inns Almshoiise Trust. On the 6th April 2023, th¢ investments and eash at bank balance5 WCIE inherited from the John Inn and the Jeiemiah Inn charities. The monetai'y assets ti'ansferred to the charity a5 al 6th Api'il 2023 iotalled £132,650 as per the reccipts and payrnents account. The investments ti'aiisfei'i'ed tv the lharity as at 6th April 2023 had a book value of £38,649. Thc truslccs are happy with the performance following the amalgamation of the previous two charities. Investmcnt growth has been pleasing and the statement of a5ECt% and liabilities totals £245,246 at Ihc ycar Cnd. The trustees are satisfied with the continued tenancy of the almshouse5 and offering of affordable aeeommodation for the tenants which are the elderly and poor.
