Para 1.17 and 1.19 |
The main activities this year are the delivery and handing out for two Christmas present for every child on the children’s liver wards on Christmas eve. These children are seriously ill, otherwise they would have been allowed home. Similarly, we delivered Easter presents, consisting of Easter Eggs (for those who are not nil by mouth), Easter soft toys for the very young children and books and puzzles for others. These presents offer some comfort and support to the children. |
| Statement confirming whether the trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit |

| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | The main activities this year are the delivery and handing out for two Christmas present for every child on the children’s liver wards on Christmas eve. These children are seriously ill, otherwise they would have been allowed home. The presents bring some happiness to the children, who are mostly bedridden and are a distraction from the boredom of not being able to move too far. The presents also show that the children haven’t been forgotten, and people are thinking about and caring about them. With the children playing with the presents either on their own or with a parent etc, they offer a bit of respite for a worried parent of the child having to stay in hospital over this time or some bonding time away from the tests and anxious times that being in hospital brings. We also deliver Easter presents which include cuddly toys for the very young children, books and puzzles and Easter eggs. We have also supplier medical grade chairs that help the person in the chairs feed themselves without further medical assistance. |

Financial Review
| Financial Review | ||
|---|---|---|
| Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period |
Para 1.21 | We are lucky that family and friends are generous, this year our outgoings exceeded our income, therefore we did use our credit balances slightly. our income is grater than our out goings. This was mainly down to the fact that we bought three chairs for Kings College Hospital. These chairs had to be purchased from a NHS supplier which was costly. These chairs are specifically designed to help and support post op children feed themselves without help. |
| Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held |
Para 1.22 | The next financial year we are looking to help further hospitals like Darenth Valley. This means further reserves may be needed to meet any resources etc they may need. The policy for holding reserves is that any reserves held reflects the commitments pledged to local hospitals plus enough to purchase both Easter and Christmas presents. |
