Debt Centre Greenwlch IDCGI was establish8d by 8 partnership of churches in Greenwich In
March 2021. We are governed by the regulations set out in the Foundatlon Model constitution
and run by a voluntary Board of Trustees. The organisation was reglstered with the Charity
Commission on 6Th September 2021.
Trustees 8re encouraged to take an actlV8 role In enabllng the organisation to fulfil its
objectives. This allows trugtees to get 8 clear undeTSt8nding of what the charity does and the
compl8xIty Involved In coordlnatlng activltles to rèspond to the needs of those who ara
struggling with the con$equen¢es of Iln8nclal Insecurity and debt. In sele¢tlng individu81s for

Advlce. We also have a partnership wlth CAP to dellver courses such as Life Skllls, delivering a
Job Club and Money Management.

Through our affiliation wlth Communlty Money Advice ICMAI, Debt Centre Greenwich
continues to operate within 8 robust fr8mework of policies and procedure8 that ensure
servlces are dellv8rod In Ilne with recognised good pr8CtIC8 and regulatory standerds.
CMA provides regular update8, training and guld8nce en8bling the centre to malntain
compllance with advice Standards and regulatory 8xpect8tion3. The team undertakes ongoing
profe5sion81 development to ensure chgnges in practice are Implernented locally. Risk
assessments are undertaken where appropriate before cliont ViSlts and staff remain alert to
Safeguarding 8nd vulnerability considerations when supporting clients.

Pubuc Beneflt
In reviewing the scope ol activitles delivered during 2025, the trustees have had due regard to
the Ch8rity Commission's guidance on public beneflt and are SBtisfied that the charity's
activities clearly demonstr8te public benefit.
Debt Centre Greenwich supports in(Jividu818 8nd households experienclng financial hardship,
disability. unemployment and housing insecurity. Through debt advice, welfare rights
advocacy, financlal capability training and community wellbeing initiatives the chafity works
to relieve povèrty and Improve Ilnanclal stablllty for beneflclarles.

During 2025 the centre supportad 44 households (plus 26 carried over from 20241 through
structured debt advice and budgetlllg gUPPOrt. Many clients were experiencing compl8x
financiAI challenges link8d to unemploym8nt. disabllity, housing inseeurlty and rislng livlng
C08ts.
By the end of the reportlng perlod 62 c8ses remgined active, r8flgCting the ongolng n8tur8 of
thè support requlred for many cllentg. The centr8 contlnued to deliver Integr8ted support
through debt 8dviee, welfare rights odvocacy and community wellbelng Inltlatlve8, helpbng
regidents stabillse their clrcumstances and gvoid cri818 out¢ome8 such a8 eviction.

Weltare Rlghts Outcomes 2025
During the reporting year of 2025, Debt Centre Gf¢enwich provided welfare rights 8UPPOrt to
27 clients across a range of complex benefit issues, including Personal Independence
Payment IPIPI, Univ8rsal Credit. LCWRA. Managed Migratlon, and disabllity-r8latod benefits.

Durlng the year, we successfully secufed E279.695.80 in @nnualised benefit incom8 for clients
across 8 range of welfare entitlements, including Personal Independence Payrnent IPIPI,
Universal Credit, LCWRA, Pension Credit, and disability-Telat8d benefits.
A significant proportlon of thls work involved repres¢nting clients through the most challenging
stages of the b8n8fits system, particularly at appe81 and tribunal level. In total, £39,125.55 in
PIP back pay was awarded to clients, alongside ongoing annual awards th8t provide long-term
financi81 stability.

Strategic Partnorghlps and Collaboratlon
During 2025 Debt Centre Greenwich stren8th8ned several strategic partnerships that support
the delivery of community-based advice, wellbeing initiatives and preventative support acfOSS
the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
Be Well Hub- South London Li¥teng
During the reporting year Debt Centre Greenwich became aff iliated as 8 Be Well Hub under
the South London Listens prograrnme. This affillation recognises the centre's role as a trusted
community setting contributing to oarly interventlon 8nd "prevention wlthin the boiough's
mentsl health ancl wellbeing system.
Through advice, advocacy 8nd holistic support th8 cehtro addresses key soci81 determinants
of health Including debt. financial insecurlty and housing instability. Working within the Be
Well network strengthens collaboration with Public Health partners and improves referral
P8thway8 for residents requiring support.
Partner¥hip wilh Peabody Charlton
A key development during the year was the stiengthening of the centre's partnership with
Peabody Ch8rlton. Through this relationship Debt Centro Gre8nwich became based at the
New Leaf Advlce Centre on the Pe8body Charlton Estat6.
Locating servlces within the community ha8 improved accessibility for residents and
strengthened collaboration with housing and community teams. This partnership 5UPPOrts
earlier intervention for households experiencing financial hardship and enables the centre to
deliver advice and wellbeing services within a trusted neighbourhood setting.

Greenwlch Communlty Advico Network IGCAN)
Debt Centre Greenwich also pl8yed a leading role in est8blishing the Greenwich Community
Advice Network IGCANI alongsi(Je Plumstead Community Lawcentre and Greenwich Housing
Rights.
The network bring8 togethef advice providers from across the borough to share knowledge,
coordinate support and address systemic challenges affecting re8idents. A key element of this
work has been the introduction of the Step referral platform, en8bling agencie8 to make
seamless r6fèrrals and ensuring r8sident8 are connected qulckly to the right support seNice.
Frazzled Groanwlch-communlty Mentalwellbelng Inltlatlve
Durlng 2025 the Centre began developing Frazzled Greenwich, 8 community mental wellbelng
init18tive delivered in p8rtnership with Peabody Charlton 8nd AfiriLife MIND. The project is
linked to the national Frazzled Café ne￿Ork and aims to provide peer-led support for
residents experiencing stress. anxiety and loneliness.
Frazzled Greenwich will provide 8 safe And non-judgement81 environment where residents can
share experiences and develop coping strategies through structured conversations. In-person
sessions are planned to launch in early 2026.
Review of Acllvltles and Impact
The trust¢0s consider the outcomes achieved durlng the year to demonstrate effectwe use of
chgrit8ble resources. Debt Centre Greenwich continues to provide specialist support for
individu81s who would otherwise Struggle to navigate complex welfare and financial systems
independently.
By stabilising debt, maximising income through welf8re rights advocacy and strengthening
community partneTships, the centre has helped residents Bvoid crisis gnd build greater
lin8ncial resillence.
Plans for tha Future
Looking aheaLI. Detst Centre Greenwich will continua to strengthen it8 preventatDie debt
advice model, with a clear focus on sustainability, early intervention, anrj integrated support.
A key priority is capacity building within the org8nisation. strengthen referral pathways. and
further integrate debt advice with welfare rlghts and wellbeing support. This approach rem8ins
consistent with Debt Centre Greenwich's long.standlng mission to alleviate poverty, promote
jU8tice, and support indivlduals and families to move forw81d with hope and stability.
During September 2025, the Centrg Monager 8nd Money Mentor successfully completed CMA
Parts 1, 2 and 3 Generalist Debt Advice Training. Once fully accredited, they will be able to
deliver the centre's debt advice setvices entirely in-house, ieducing reliance on external
advisers and increasing the ch8rity'S ability to respond flexibly to local demand.

Income for the yesr was £61,22812024 68,0281 and expenditure was £55,,65912024 £54,915)
All funtt8 raised by DCG are detailed in the accounts at the end of this report. The accounts
provide a 8umm8ry of financial 8Ctivity over the last year. Funds are used to achieve the
objectives summarised above and to develop DCGtorthe benefit ofthe community It serves.

We are thankful for tho partnership with the Greenwich Foodbank that provides funding to
March 2025 through 8 SeNice Level Agreement and to our partner churches who have
provided funding and other resources.
We were successful in 88tting funding from Awards tor All1£15.8kl for a volunte8T programme:
and £23.7k trom Greenwich Healthief Communities Fund to build financial resilience to
improve mental he8lth and well-being. Funding from the Foyle Foundation 1£5kl enabled us to
deliver Life Skills and 2 Money Coaching courses in 2024.
Raserve8 Pollcy
AS a mission charity we feel strongly that the priority for the funds received should be to use
them to achieve our charitablé purpose8, this mean5 that we keep our reserv8s low. Our
current requirement for 3 months running costs is £14. 000. A future objective of the trustees
going lorward will be to review the requirements for a suitable reseNes position for the charity.
Fundralslng Pollcy
DCG 8re in the process of developing an active programme of funding. We are hoping to
improve the sustainability of the charity through funding bids, publiclw fundraisers and raising
8waren8S8 to attract more individual donors. During 2025 we were successful In securing
nearly £40k of new income through grant8 and donations.
