Chaimian's Report The Club was formed ill 11194 and celebrated our 125 Anniversary in 2019. Since that time it has beèn converted to a Company Limited by Guarantee iii Julie 2021 and reglslered as a Lharity in September 2021. This transformation culminated in December 2023 with the completion of contracts to sell the existing ground for the development of Affordable Housing and using the proceed5 to buy a new IS acre site and contract for the development of much improved facilities including 4 new grass pitchÈ5. changing rooms, clubhouse and car parking. The new facilities are contracted to be delivered in August 2025 in time for the start of the new season. It has been a difficult journey with many obstacles to overcome during the planning process arkd the ne8Otiation of contracts. In addition the existing facilitie5 have deteriorated due insurmountable drainage issues and the resultant decline in membership. However, the core of the club has been maintained thank5 to the hard work of the Trustees and Committee members and we now look forward to a period of growth in participation from all areas Iiiiluding players. volunteers and the community at large. Trust••s Annual Report intludins the Directors Repon The trustees present this report and the unaudited financial statements for the year ended 30 June 2024. Included within the trustees report is the directors report as required by company law. Structure. governance and management Bolton Wyresdale Amateur Football and Sports Club is a rpgistered CharitylRegistration No.119J71al and a Company Limited by Guarantee Registration No. 1334625621. The Eoverning documents arp. the memorandum and articles of association dated 17, June 2021. The trustees, who are also directors were appointed on formation and continue in their roles. The Legal Members of the company limited by guarantee undertake to contribute an amount not exceeding £1 to the assets of the Company in the event of winding up. The total number of suc.h guarantees at 30 June 2024 was ten. Two in the Lancashire AmateLFr league playing in the Premier Division and Dlvision two and a Veterans team playing in the Bolton Over 35 Veterans Football I paEUe_ Due to tliE yuvr condltlon of our home ground matches were played rented local authority pitches. The Clubhouse also became unusable due to major issues with the flat roof which could not be economically resolved. The scope of activities and involvement Wa5 therefore constrained by these two major issues and Llie Iru5tees and committee members concentrated their efforts on the sale and purchase activities to provtdé new facilitiet for the Club Future Plans The planned completion of the new facility will provide a major opportijnity to expand the reach and involvement of the Club.
The facility will coniprisv 2 ddult grass pltches. 2 junior grass pitches, 4 changing rooms with facilities for official_£, pxrkine for 78 cars, accèssibility features and energy efficieiiLy Iriei5ures to the latest standards. The Club owns the freehold to the 15 acre site on which the facilities are located between Bolton and Bury. The intention is to maintain and grow the number of Men'5 teams. utilise the two new junior pitches to recruit and SLlPPOrt junior football in the area and also assess the feasibility of creatini a Ladies team. It is planned to utilise the high quality pitches and make them available for tournaments and competition5 It is also planned to make the Clubhouse facilities available for use by local community groups The Club ha5 secure income from Sponsorship and aims to use this to ensure that the facilities are adequately maintained. In addition it aims to raise further funds through catering, pitch rental. donation5, subscriptions as well as receiving interest on Reserve funds. The club aims to support its growth through the recruitment of a broad spectrum of volunteers who will be attracted via the increased community involvement. Financial Review For the period in quer -tion thcre was a 5urplu5 of £68,267, with income from sponsorship and interest on the proceeds from the sale of thp. grnijnd being the main elements As at the 30 June 2024, thc total funds of the Charity £2,102.163. Of Ihis £5Y4,2111 relates to land and buildings under construction and investp.d fiinds from the sale of the old ground which were invested and earning interest. There is a Long term Unsecured Loan £500,onn which was primarily used to purchaJC the new 15 acre site. This loan has no interest or regular repayments and is only repayable in the event of a default, disposal, merger for value or change of use Reserves Policy All funds are Unrestricted and can be used towards the support of the Objects. There are sufficient fund5 to complete the development of the new facility, cover operating costs and invest in interest bearing savings accounts.
