The Trurtees have been pteased to see a continued Encreased in the numberof members attending

we have asked the Lei￿re Centre to upgrade thelrfacilitiÉs but without succes& We have now
approad)ed Wandsworth CourKil to requ2st that an itttemetconnection part of thelr upgrade
programme for 2024 butthey have yetto respon(L As we ￿arthe end of 2024. we are investigating
othervenu

IxJSldirg of the dwrch and its linksto Wllliam M<wTis and contwnpordries made it a hugely popular
trip. Over 60 people attended.

some of our vi5tts have required Imaginative travel anangements. Atrip to Crossness Pumping
Statlon kite in 2023 linwjlving the EEizabeth Ltne and a fleet of knsl might seem a strnnge
destination until you see the magnificent Wictorian ironwork used in the building by Sir Joseph
Bazelgette and a trlp to Rochesterfor guided tours of Restoration House and the Cathedral required
participants to make their own way by train from ￿￿E8 Station. Both vlslts were successful.
We are espeaalty grateful to two members of our Society who acted as guides ft)r us; tsz Hamilton.

held us engrossed with the story of Efizabeth Murrèy. daughtsr of the original owner of Harn House
during a tourthere in February.

Given the populaiity of the elents. a detiston was made during 2024 to add another S￿d¥ event and
an afternoon in Noltmber 2024 has been set aslde to COn5tder the topic of The El8in Marbles
(History and Controvwl. We expect tse to be a good tumoutfor such a hottopi
ort￿ agaln. theTrustees took athRnW of The Arts Sodety Comrnunlty Grant Scheme to app￿fOr a
grdnt of £250 on behalf of a local group. In thts case it was used to aU￿ent a grant of £1,000 that
TAS SW London made to Lin(len Lodge Sthool. whose pupils have severe physical impalmients.
Three of the Trustees were lucky enough to vtsit the school and to learn abotrtthe fflaterials thatthe
Art Therawteacher had bought for use with the pupil&
In April. a second grantwas awarded. thistimeto the Royal Hospitsl for NeurTrDisability. We look
fo￿ard to hearing more from them atrM)ut the Silk Screen Printing equipmentfor whlch the funds
were eamiarked. Grant applicatlons are considered tivice a year. and organisatrons can now use the
forrrffi available on the wetisite.
