Activities

The Society is the owner of British Railways Standard Class Five steam locomotive 73082 Camelot which operates on the Bluebell Railway between Sheffield Park and East Grinstead in Sussex. The funds raised by the charity are used to help maintain the locomotive in working order so that it can be seen in operation by the general public. On occasions our engine will visit other UK heritage railways.

Objects: The Object Of The CIO Is To Advance The Education, For The Public Benefit, In The History, Design And Engineering Of Steam Locomotives, Through, But Not Exclusively, The Acquisition, Restoration, Preservation, Exhibition And Maintenance In Working Order, Of British Railways Standard Class 5 4-6-0 73082 Camelot And Such Other Appropriate Rolling Stock, Equipment, Artefacts, Relics, Documents And Records Of Historic Interest As The Trustees May From Time To Time Decide And By The Publication Of A Journal And Web Articles.
