The Trustees are pleased to present thelr report together with the financial 5tstements of the
diarity for the year ended 30 June 2023.
Oblertives and Actlvities
The principal objective of the band is to prornote. improve develop and maintain public education in
ond appreclation of brass band music through the presentstK>n of public perfomiances and training
In brass band music.
Structure. Governance and Mana8ement
The band Is a Charitable Incorwrated O￿anIsatiOn and is 8ovemed lry its Constrtution dated 31
AuBUSt 2022.
The Trustees are appointed in accordan￿ wlth the Const5tutlon and are actively engaged in the
running of the band, haviTrd been selerted for their professlonal experlence and to add value to the
or8anlsation.
The daY-t￿daY management of the band Is carried on by the Management Commlttee, the duties of
whose member5 have been approved by the Trustee>

Achlev•ments
A number of adults expressed a wish to Joln the youth band and St was decided that it would be
beneficial for that band to be ￿-fOrmed as a community band. Both the senior and community
bands have perfomed in a number of concerts during the reportin8 period. As from l January 2023
the senior band was promoted to the Championshlp section and competed Sn the wional Brass
Band Champlonships in that section.

The Trustees have reviewed the statement of public benefft as follows:

be expressed as a vehide to perfonn at the hFghe5t level. continue self development and
become a role model for other brass musicians.
b) Benefits to non playln8 member5
Persons who cannot commit to the dedication of playirE membership will be encouraged to
be actlvety Involved in a 'Friendg or8anisation. These Frierxls wlll be encouraged to organlse
raffles. refreshments etc. Non playing members are inte8fdl to the long term growth of the
organisatlon.
c) Beneffts to the l•xal communlty
Gresley Colllery 8rass Band was founded in the 1850s and enjoys a high profile wlthln the
local community. The Trustees ploce great Importan￿ on the establishment of communlty
links and strntegic partnerships to encoura8e development of local brass band talent.
Flnanclal Revlew
As at 30 June 2023 the band had flnancial reserves of £11.864 which are primarity held by the band's
bankers.

members for their contlnued support.
Reserv￿ Polkv
The band has no restrlcted funds. It is revenue based and has to operate wlthln the confines of cash
generation. Expenditure outside normal operatin8 requirements is identified and funds allocated
appropriately. The Trustees recognise the need to maintaln ￿SerVeS to fund unforeseen items
however the payment of operatin8 expendlture Is of paramount Importance.
