Pollinator research has continued and collected pollens from bee nests are now being analysed for identification. Preparations are now being made for precision and track sowing of selected pollinator-friendly wild flowers and plans are being laid down for a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant to develop the moat into a research reserve for further education of students. |

Para 1.20 | Additional field work has been carried out to develop the trials plots, now growing new varieties of clovers, lucerne, linseeds and chicory to assess their suitability for pollinators. Other selected pollinator friendly species have had their seed collected in preparation for precision sowing trials starting in 2026 and further species have been sown and planted within the moat compound itself. Our public engagement has continued and a further 1,500 osmia bicornis have been released from the Countess of Chester hospital into the surrounding environment. |
