Para 1.17 and 1.19 |
Promote social interaction • To become part of a team • Listening to instructions from coaches and team players • Mixing with other teams • Understanding the rules of football • Access to team events for younger people of the Embsay and surrounding areas Enable and support healthy lifestyles • Attending training sessions • Attending league matches • General fitness activities involved with the sport |
| Statement confirming whether the trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit |
Para 1.18 | The benefits of our organisation’s purpose is to provide a safe and positive environment to any young person or young adult who wants to take part in the sport of football. This benefits our members not only physically but also by providing a sense of purpose and the security and backing of a team. Promotes health by getting the local community to become fitter; it enables and supports healthy lifestyles. Exercise in general helps to reduce the risk of depression by 30% according to the NHS. Builds confidence as children make new friends with children from other local schools both through training at the club and by accessing team events in Embsay and the surrounding areas. Promotes social interaction which reduces social |
isolation for children and carers, as carers are encouraged to stay and watch the training as part of the structured training programme; new friendships are formed at the side of the pitch. Our football club helps integration into the community as carers and children who may feel excluded from the community (whether by reason of race, religion, being a single parent etc) form social connections through, and are united in the common purpose of, football.

Achievements and Performance
| SORP reference | ||
|---|---|---|
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | The objectives have been met by the charity by providing the following: • Easy player registration • Regular training and matches • Coaching by qualified officials • Support by the trustees and welfare officer • Promoting fair play and inclusion We have players from many different ethnic groups and back grounds. We have also supported low-income families with financial help. An additional achievement is the planning for a new pitch within the club’s home town of Embsay. This is in conjunction with a local property developer. This will add additional facilities within the town and become their first quality football pitch for many years. |

Financial Review
| Financial Review | ||
|---|---|---|
| Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period |
Para 1.21 | |
| Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held |
Para 1.22 | The current reserves are for several reasons: • The on-going volatility of the financial market, the fact that we are wholly funded by the teams we have. This will enable the club to continue should there be a change in teams that the club operates and thus the impact on funds. • The now approved, planning application for a new pitch to replace what used to be the seniors pitch. This is a big investment for the club and we need to ensure funds are available to complete the build and on-going maintenance of the pitch. |
