During this period, the charity had dormant accounts. ## **Structure, governance and management** The Charity's governing document was constituted with the Charity Commission on 13 July 2021. Trustees are legally responsible for the governance and management of the charity. Trustees are responsible for setting strategies and policies for ensuring these are implemented. ## **Risk management** The Charity's trustees have considered the major risks to which the charity is exposed and have reviewed potential risks. Systems and procedures have been put in place to manage the risks and to mitigate any adverse outcomes. ## **Objectives and activities** The object of the Association is to advance the education of pupils in the school, specifically by developing effective relationships between the staff, parents, and others associated with the school, and by engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment that support the school and advance the education of the pupils. ## **Financial Review** The Charity's total income from donation and charitable fundraising events, the year was £37,898. The respective expenditure was £9,435, leaving inspent available funds for grant making to Deansfield Primary School, £24,463. ## **Future plans** Friends of Deansfield School (Charity no 1195604) is expected to continue its increase its fundraising activities for Deansfield Primary School. ## **Trustees' responsibilities statement** The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice). The law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the trustees are required to: - select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; - observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP; - make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; - state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material - departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; - prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that - the charity will continue in operation. The functional and presentational currency is GBP. ## **Turnover** Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the sale of goods and from the rendering of services. ## **Intangible Assets** Intangible assets are stated at cost less accumulated amortisation and accumulated impairment losses. Intangible fixed assets (including purchased goodwill and patents) are amortised at rates calculated to write off the assets on a straight-line basis over their estimated useful economic lives. Impairment of intangible assets is reviewed where circumstances indicate that the carrying value of an asset may not be fully recoverable. ## **Tangible assets** Tangible assets are measured at cost less accumulated depreciation. Depreciation is calculated, at the following rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life. **Account Method Rate** ## **Stocks and work in progress** Stocks are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value. Costs comprise all costs incurred in bringing the stocks to the location and condition. When stocks are sold, the carrying amount of those stocks is recognised as an expense within cost of sales. This takes place in the same period that the associated revenue is recognised. Work in progress is valued using the percentage of completion method and values are calculated using the lower of cost and estimated selling price less costs to complete and sell. ## **Finance leases and hire purchase contracts** Assets obtained under hire purchase contracts and finance leases are capitalised as tangible assets and depreciated over the shorter of the lease term or its useful life. Obligations under such agreements are included in liabilities net of the finance charge. The finance element of the rental payment is charged to the profit and loss account.
