Structure, Governance and Management

School Drive is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, setup and run by four trustees who will serve the charity on an ongoing basis. No new additional trustees are planned to be appointed.

Objectives and Activities

For the public benefit, the advancement of education in Berkshire by the provision of school supplies and educational equipment in particular, but not limited to, school uniforms, stationary, shoes, sports kit and bags to children whose families could not otherwise afford to provide through a lack of means.

Public Benefit

School Drive aims to relieve poverty and financial hardship of people (regardless of race or religion) in need in the county of Berkshire. School Drive will provide financial support and or school supplies to ensure children and students have everything they need to attend primary & secondary school to further their education. School Drive will receive funding initially in the form of a charitable donation from the trustees (or companies owned by the trustees). School Drive will then seek both financial donations and the donation of goods (Eg. School Uniform) from both individuals and businesses. The trustees of School Drive will aim to collect and distribute the donations to families in Berkshire. We can confirm trustees have had regard to Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.

Achievements and Performance

During this period we have established connections with over 30 Windsor, Maidenhead and Slough primary and secondary schools, including special needs schools and colleges. We have also established relationships with Local Authority partners such as Achieving for Children and Army family support. In the period 2024-2025 we have supported over 700 local children, providing them with the necessary items they require to enable them to attend school and get the most from their school day. School Drive has continued to successfully work with schools to provide uniform, school shoes, PE kit, bags, coats, stationery and work books to children whose families would otherwise be unable to provide. During this time School Drive has been liaising with headteachers in the Slough area and attending further face to face meetings in order to publicise the charity to the wider community. School Drive has also liaised with leaders within the Duke of Edinburgh scheme in order to support children with the necessary equipment they need to participate in the scheme. Through our well established relationships with our local schools School Drive has continues to successfully support many families struggling financially.

Financial Review

The Charity currently has £72,249 in funds for the period ending 5[th] April 2025. We feel this will ensure we can continue to run the charity for many years and will continue to raise funds via donations on an ongoing basis.

Reserves Policy

The reserves at the end of the period were £72,249 which will be used to fund the ongoing charitable activities of the charity.

Going Concern

The trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. For this reason, it adopts the going-concern basis in preparing the financial statements.
