C10-Association on 19th August 2021 and the Charity Commission hold details of its
governing document.
The CIO is related through its members and trustees and its chaTltable fund-raising activities
to the Rotary Club of Lymington. The Rotsry Club of Lymington is part of Rotary
International District 1110 locally known as Rotary Wessex, which is part of the Rotary
International movement a worldwide organisation comprising more than 1.2 million
Rotarians in over 46.CQO Clubs in over 200 countries.

The main objectives of the CIO are foi the relief of the poor or needy in Lymington,
Hampshire, any other part of the United Kingdom or elsewhere in the world, or such other
charitable purpose as the members of the CIO shall in duly constituted meeting direct.

Actl¥ity and Achlevement for the Publk Benefft
During the year, the CIO undertook fund-raising projetts in collaboration with the Rotary
Club of Lymington Trust Fund and Rotary Club of Lymington.
In August 2023 the Summer Spectacular wa5 held and taking into account the
receipts and èxpéhdirure received and expended by the Truir Fufid, £9,929.16 was
raised.
In December 2023 the Santa on the Quay and Christmas Street Collections with
Santa raised £1,973.76 for distribution to local charities that Involve chlldren.
All funds ralsed are precious in these difficult economic times, and so £121 raised from the
sale of marmalade produced by Susan Abernethy provided a tasty bonus.
During the year, a grand total of £13,116 was paid out by the CIO in grants to othÈr
charitable organi5ations, our local sch¢xJls ond 8ood causes. Amongst these were African
Adver)tures Foundation to whom £2,CrfJ) was donated of which £1,0￿ was recelved from
Rotary Distritt as a matchlng grant. and £2,55Q was donated to the Friends of Lymlngtor)
New Forest Hospital towards the purchase of spe¢ifi¢ equipment. the fund5 having been
raised In celebratlon ot the Rotary Club of Lymington's 75ih Anniversary. A further £1,462
W35 paid out on charitable activities.
Durln8 the year, £2,160 was donated from our Rotary Foundation Fund to the Rotary
Foundation, Rotorf5 own charity, that funds humanltarian projects. vocatlonal tralnlng and
scholarships worldwide.
Shoeboxes for vulnerable children abroad were 38ain filled by Club member5 and local
schoo15 and collected 3$ has been done for a number of year5. before being delivered for
transport overseas.
A full list of grant5 paid in the year is included in the financlal statements.
At 30th lune 2024. the amount held by the CIO was £8,923.05, made up of £578.72
restrlcted funds for Rotary Foundation and £8.344.33 unrestricted funds, of which the Santa
Fund arnounted to £1,461.76.
After the year end, the Trustees were able to make a furrher donation to the Frlends of
Lymirngton New Forest Hospital of £2.500 towards the provision of equipment for the
benefit of children needing to attend the Urgent Treatment CentTe there, and the Trustees
are committed to continuin8 to distribute accumulated Tund5 to deserving Causes.

Statement of Public Benefft
The Trustees confirm they have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity
Commissionerfs general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the CIO'S aim5,
objectives and plans for the current year.
The Trustees confirm the CIO rneetS the tv￿ principles of public benefit narnelv:
that there must be an identifiable benefit or beneflts and they must be clear and related to
the objectives of the Charity and must be balanced against any detriment or harm,.
and that the benefit must be to the public or a sertion of the public and that the
beneficiaries must be appropriate to the aims of the Charity and must not be unreasonably
restricted and that those in poverty must not be excluded from the opportunity to benefit.
Statement of TNMees Responslbllltles
The trustees are responsible for keeping accounting records which disclose with reasonable
accuracy the financial position of the charity. and which enable them to ascertain the
financial F)OSition of the chariry and to ensure that the finantial statements comply with the
requlrements of the Charlty IAccounts & Reports) Re8ulation5 2008. They a￿ also
responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charlty and hence for taklng reasonable steps
for the prevention and deteclion of fraud and other irregularities.
