The charity was established to advance the Hindu faith and promote community
cohesion. education. cultural awareness and social weifare wilhin Lancaster.
Morecambe and the surrounding areas.
During the period. the charity organi5ed and supported a range of cultural. religious
and community activities for local residents. These induded celebralK)ns of Ganesh
Chaturthi. Navralri and Holi. together with community engagement activities and
online events.
The trustees continued ts Work with volunteers and members of the local community
to Provide opportunities for social inlera¢lion, cultural education and participation in
Hindu religious festivaEs.

The Irustees have had due regard lo the guidance issued by the Charity Commission
on public benefit when planning and delivering these community. religious. and
cultural events.

The charity successfulty delivered a number of community events durirsg ils first
reporting period. Activities were supported by volunteers and community members
and helped bring together people from diverse backgrounds.

Reserves Policy
The Iruslees consider it appropriate to maintain 5uffiThent reserves lo meet fijture
operating costs and support planned charitable activities. On 31 March 2022, the
charity held unreslricled cash reserves of £3.802. The charity does not hold any
funds as a custodian trustee.
Structure. Govemance and Management
Lancaster and Morecambe Hindu Society is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation
(CIO) govemed by ￿5 Constitution. The trustees are responsible for the overall
management and control of ihe charity and ffleet regulady lo consider strategy.
