PLAISTOW CHURCH OF CHRIST

Aim and Purposes

The Plaistow Church of Christ (PCOC) is committed to promoting the Christian faith in London and Newham. Our primary responsibility is to advance the mission of the church, providing pastoral care, evangelism, and spiritual growth to our members.

Objectives and Activities

PCOC strives to create an environment where anyone can worship and learn about Christian faith and the Holy Bible. We uphold high standards of worship and regularly review and implement recommendations to expand our services and activities. Our worship services put faith into practice through prayer, bible study, scripture reading, music, and baptism.

In planning our activities, we follow the Commission's guidance on public benefit and specific guidance on charities for the advancement of religion. We enable ordinary people to live out their faith as part of the church in the community by providing opportunities for worship, bible study, prayer, pastoral care, and missionary and outreach work. Evangelism is a crucial part of our mission, and we seek to share the message of Christ's love with those around us through various outreach programs.

Expenses

To facilitate these activities, it is important that we have adequate funds to pay for expenses such as rent, utilities, and other church-related expenses. In the year 2022, we incurred expenses of £6,686.67 in evangelism, which includes outreach programs and events aimed at spreading the message of Christ's love to the wider community.

PLAISTOW CHURCH OF CHRIST

Tithes

We are grateful to our members for their continued support through tithes. In the year 2022, we received a total of £6,688.33 in tithes. Tithing is a biblical practice where believers give a tenth of their income to support the work of the church. It is a way to demonstrate our faith and trust in God's provision and to support the mission of the church. We appreciate the sacrificial giving of our members and their commitment to the work of the church.

Achievements & Performance

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, PCOC continued to offer weekly online worship services and prayer meetings throughout the year. We resumed in-person worship services in the last quarter of the year, adhering to all necessary safety protocols. We also welcomed new part-time pastors and families who recently arrived in the country to work.

We are committed to spreading the message of Christ's love to the wider community and appreciate the support of our members and supporters.
