Introduction
The following report provide5 an overview of the activities and achievements of The Breastfeeding
Companion during the year endin8 31/0712024 and outlines the fi.nancial position of the charity as of
that date. The report also include5 a statement of the trustee's responsibilities and a review of the
charitV'5 activities.
Trustees Responsibilitres
The trustees are responsible for ensurin8 that The 8reastfeedin8 Companion complie5 Wlth its
charitable purp05e5 and operates in accordance with the law. The trustees have also ensured that
the financial statements have been properly prepared and have been approved for presentation to
the charity's members.
Activities 3nd Achievements
During the year ending 3110712024, The Breasrfeeding Companion began to come out of its
extended hiatus. There have been two areas of focus.
The first has been on updating the website and providin8 a multi-lin8ual service, thi5 15 5ti11 a work in
pro8res5, but we are pleased with the work so far.
The second a￿a of focus has been to reach out to NHS Trusts, offering Iroining packages. This work
has only just started, but is seeing positive responses and results, due to the nature of our work and
the ever tr'ghtening budget5 in the trusts.
Financial Review
There was one donation of just £10. This was only done to test the donation proce55lsoftware.
There were Iwo separate payment5 for the courses. from one of the Trusts. Now that has been
piloted, we hope to be able to expand that to other NHS Trusts.
Apart from a processing fee of £0.32, there was no expenditure for this financial year.
Conclusion
With the Breastteeding Companion being on hold for so long, it's been discouraging to have made so
little progress, but now we have turned a corner. we can see the areas where we can make real
differences in the live5 of those who need our help. as well as those professionals thal support them.
We look forward to building on what we've begun this year, and bring us closer to our 8oals.
