**benefit)**|Plymouth Youth for Christ raises awareness of religious beliefs and
practices through providing young people with opportunities to explore
the Christian faith through youth clubs, groups, events, meetings and
opportunities to participate in worship.
The organisation generally advances the religion through providing
opportunities for young people to explore the Christian faith. Young
people attending groups, clubs and meetings will be invited to
participate in activities and discussions that explore Christian beliefs
and values such as dignity, empowerment and partnership.
Facilitating education about the Christian faith takes place in church
buildings, community facilities, schools and through online/social
media content.
Young people who already attend groups or clubs are encouraged to
invite their friends. Activities are also advertised through local
churches and schools. Activities/services may be promoted at
community events and venues.
All young people aged between 7 and 25 can attend youth work
activities. Most groups are specifically for different age groups, for
example a youth club for young people aged 11-14 or a primary school
assembly.
The Trustees have reviewed the activities of the charity in the light of
the guidance published by the Charity Commission on public benefit.
The Trustees are satisfied that the charity’s activities during the past
year continue to be for the public benefit, relating as they do to
benefit the community in the City of Plymouth and beyond.| |---|---| **TAR** 2024/25 3 Section D Achievements and performance **Summary of the main** The vision of Plymouth Youth for Christ is to invite every young person in the **achievements of the charity** city of Plymouth to explore the Christian faith and enable them to thrive in **during the year** all areas of life. 2024-25 was a year of growth for the charity. The launch of several new partnerships and projects meant that the team were able to support more young people and to provide them opportunities to explore the Christian faith. Plymouth Youth for Christ volunteers had over 840 interactions with young people during this period through events, clubs and sessions. Financial, volunteer and prayer support also grew as the team visited several local church services to share the vision of the charity and to invite support from the congregations. During this year the trustees appointed an employed Centre Director and Church Partnership Youth Worker. **Work in secondary schools** Plymouth Youth for Christ volunteers and staff continued to serve on the chaplaincy team at a local Anglican secondary school. In collaboration with other local church youth leaders they ran a lunchtime club ‘Faith Fridays’. During the club the team facilitated a discussion about life issues and the Christian faith. Staff also helped to facilitate pastoral conversations with young people struggling with bereavement and anxiety. **Work in Barne Barton** Plymouth Youth for Christ volunteers continued to run ‘Barne Barton Rock Solid’ a youth club for young people in school years 5-8. **Work in St Budeaux** Through a partnership with St Budeaux Baptist Church the Centre Director supported monthly youth club sessions at the church as well as being part of planning and developing the group. **Work is Estover** In Sept 2024 the charity launched ‘Estover Rock Solid’ in partnership with Forde Valley Mission Community. The youth club is for young people in school years 5-8. **Partnership with Hope Baptist** In September 2024 a Service Level Agreement was used to initiate a formal partnership with Hope Baptist Church in which Plymouth Youth for Christ seconded a Church Partnership Youth Worker on a part-time basis to help develop the existing youth work at the church. During this period the Church Partnership Youth Worker helped to strengthen the existing youth club as well as launch two brand new groups to help support young people and enable them to explore the Christian faith. **TAR** 2024/25 4 ## **Section E Financial review** The trustees will aim to maintain sufficient unrestricted funds to meet PYFC **Brief statement of the** expenditure over a 3 to 6 month period. These reserves will be held in a **charity’s policy on reserves** deposit account with an ethical bank, earning the highest rate of interest possible. If there is a significant reserve it will be held in low risk and ethical investment funds to provide reserves for future developments and the highest return possible by way of interest or growth in value of the funds. The trustees will regularly review the performance of investments and ensure that all interest payments due are received. As of 5th April 2025, our account balance is £13,906 of which just £252 is restricted funds.
