Thetrusteespresenttheirreportwiththefinancialstatementsofthecharityfortheyear ended
31December2023.ThetrusteeshaveadoptedtheprovisionsofAccountingandReportingby Charities:
StatementofRecommendedPracticeapplicabletocharitiespreparingtheiraccountsinaccordancewith the
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019).

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

Objectives and aims

TheobjectsoftheJimJacksonEducationalandEnablingFoundationCIOaretoprovideforthepublic benefit,
and on a worldwide basis the following:
The relief of need of disadvantaged young persons.
The advancementof education(includingsocialand physicaltraining)of disadvantagedyoungpersons,in  such
ways as the charity trustees think fit, including by:
-awardingtosuchpersonsscholarships,maintenanceallowancesorgrantstenableatanyuniversity, college
or institution of higher or further education;
- providingfortheireducationand preparingthemforentrytoanyoccupation,tradeorprofessionon leaving
any educational establishment;
- assisting other charitable organisations whose aims include advancing the education of such young persons.
Thereliefofunemploymentofdisadvantagedyoungpersons,insuchwaysasmaybethoughtfit, including
assistance to find employment.
'Disadvantagedyoungpersons'meansthosepersonsaged16-24whoareinneedbyreasonofyouth, age,
ill-health, disability, financial hardship or otherwise.

Significant activities

Thiswasthesecondyearofoperationforthecharityandinadditiontoincreasingtheawarenessof its
objectivesand aims, and continuingto raise funds it was able to commencesupportingbeneficiariesduring the
year in a significantway. Detailsof its achievementscan be found in the charitableactivitiessectionbelow. The
Trusteesestablishedaneffectiveprocessforreviewingandapprovingapplicationsforfundingandsupport in
thekeyareasof EducationalFunding,EnablingFundingand HardshipFunding.In summary£69,117was spent
on charitableactivitiesduring the year with commitmentsof up to £50,000to be paid out in the following year
on long term support activities.

Public benefit

ThetrusteesoftheJimJacksonEducationalandEnablingFoundationCIOconfirmthattheyaresatisfied that
they have compliedwith their duty with regardsto ensuringthat the Charityhas undertakensuitableworks for
the benefit of the public; as required by the Charity Commission.

ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE

Charitable activities

Duringtheyear,thecharitymadepaymentsof£69,117forcharitableactivities.Thisincluded£48,802 within
the educationalfund, paid to third party charitableorganisationsenablingthem to retain vulnerablestaff in full
employmentwhilstsupportingthemwithapprenticeshipsinrecognisedqualifications.Thesupport included
timeoffforstudyattendanceandstudycosts.Theseactivitieshavebenefittedboththethirdpartycharity in
beingabletoretaintheemployeesandtheindividualwhowillbenefitfromastructuredtraining programme
tosecureemploymentandtobeabletoseekfutureemploymentopportunitiesastheyariseusingthe skills
and qualifications gained under this programme.
Inadditionpaymentsweremadetoindividualstosupportlongertermstudyprogrammesand qualifications
within the UK, India and Africa.
Thecharityislookingtoextendthisprogrammefurtherinthefuturewithintheeducationalsector including
local colleges and universities.
Afurther£13,715wasspentwithintheenablingfundwheresupportwasprovidedthroughthesupply of
computers,ITandotherequipment,andwithpaymentforshorttermandoneoffcoursefeesleading to
opportunities for individuals to develop their skills on entering the business world.
Finally£6,600waspaidoutfromthehardshipfundtosupportlivingaccommodation,andtravel and
subsistencecostsrelatingtoqualifyingstudyprogrammesthatwouldbesupportedthroughthe educational
and enabling funds.
GiventhatthiswasthefirstyearofmakingsignificantpaymentstoqualifyingbeneficiariestheTrustees were
very pleased with the level of support provided by the Jim Jackson Educational and Enabling Fund

FINANCIAL REVIEW

Financial position

Theresultsfortheyearandthecharity'sfinancialpositionattheendoftheyearareshowninthe attached
financial statements.
DuringtheYear,thecharityhadincomeof£170,242fromdonationsandlegacies.Totalexpenditure was
£100,813. There was an operating surplus of £69,429 in the year.

Principal funding sources

ThelargestsourceoffundsarisefromdonationsfromAspectsBeautyCompanyLimited,andtheJackson Hill
family.JimJackson,afterwhomthecharitywasestablishedandnamedwasthefounderandjoint managing
directorofAspectsBeautyCompanybeforehesadlypassedawayinFebruary2021.Otherfundscome from
generousdonationsfromcompaniesin the beautysectorand fromthe staffof AspectsBeautyCompany, who
notonlydonatefundsbutarrangeanumberofeventseveryyeartogeneratefundsandawarenessof the
charity.Othereventsare organisedby the companyand supportfor the charityis alwaysrepresented. Friends
of the company and family also make regular donations to the charity.

FINANCIAL REVIEW

Reserves policy

Thetrusteesaimtomaintainfreereservesin unrestrictedfundsat a levelwhichequatestoapproximately six
monthsof unrestrictedcharitableexpenditure.The trusteesconsiderthat this level will providesufficient funds
tomaintainfundingofongoinggrantcommitments,torespondtonewapplicationsandtoensure that
administration,supportandgovernancecostsarecovered.Thebalanceheldasunrestrictedfundsat 31st
December 2023 was £220,887, of which £60,000 was still regarded as sufficient as free reserves.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

Governing document

Thecharityis controlledandmanagedby itsgoverningdocumentas a CIOthroughitsConstitution Document
initially registered with the Charity Commission on 9th August 2021.

Recruitment and appointment of new trustees

Apartfromthe firsttrustees,everytrusteemustbe appointedfor a termof threeyearsby a resolution passed
ataproperlyconvenedmeetingofthecharitytrustees.Inselectingindividualsforappointmentas trustees,
the trusteesmusthaveregardto the skills,knowledgeand experienceneededforthe effective administration
of the Jim JacksonApart fromthe first trustees,everytrusteemust be appointedfor a term of three yearsby a
resolutionpassedataproperlyconvenedmeetingofthecharitytrustees.Inselectingindividuals for
appointmentas trustees,the trusteesmust have regard to the skills, knowledgeand experienceneeded for the
effective administration of the Jim Jackson Educational and Enabling Foundation CIO.
In appointingtrustees,thereshouldalwaysbe a familymemberand a representativefromthe family business
on the trustee board of the Jim Jackson Educational and Enabling Foundation CIO.
The charity trustees will make available to each new trustee, on or before his or her first appointment:

- a copy of the current version of this constitution; and

- a copy of the CIO's latest Trustees' Annual Report and statement of accounts.
Every trustee of the Jim Jackson Educational and Enabling Foundation CIO must be a natural person.
No individual may be appointed as a trustee if:

- he or she is under the age of 16 years; or

- heorshewouldautomaticallyceasetoholdofficeunderthesections178-180oftheCharitiesact2011 (or
any statutory re-enactment or modification of that provision) .

No one is entitledto act as a charitytrusteewhetheron appointmentor on any re-appointmentuntil he or  she
has expresslyacknowledged,in whateverway the charitytrusteesdecide,his or her acceptanceof the office of
charitytrustee.At leastoneofthetrusteesoftheJimJacksonEducationalandEnablingFoundationCIO must
be 18 yearsof age or over.If thereis no trusteeaged at least18 years,the remainingtrusteesmayonlyact to
call a meeting of the trustees or appoint a new trustee.
Theremustbeatleastthreetrustees.Ifthenumberfallsbelowthisminimum,theremainingtrustee or
trusteesmay act only to call a meetingof the trusteesor appointa new trustee.There is no maximum number
of trustees that may be appointed to the Jim Jackson Educational and Enabling Foundation CIO.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charitytrusteesof the Trustyou are responsiblefor the preparationof the accountsin accordance with
the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').
IreportinrespectofmyexaminationoftheTrust'saccountscarriedoutunderSection145oftheActand in
carryingoutmyexaminationIhavefollowedallapplicableDirectionsgivenbytheCharityCommission under
Section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner's statement

I have completedmy examination.I confirmthat no materialmattershave come to my attentionin  connection
with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by Section 130 of the Act; or

2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or

3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

Basis of preparing the financial statements

Thefinancialstatementsofthecharity,whichisapublicbenefitentityunderFRS102,have been
preparedinaccordancewiththeCharitiesSORP(FRS102)'AccountingandReportingby Charities:
StatementofRecommendedPracticeapplicabletocharitiespreparingtheiraccountsin accordance
with the FinancialReportingStandardapplicablein the UK and Republicof Ireland(FRS 102)(effective 1
January2019)',FinancialReportingStandard102'The FinancialReportingStandardapplicablein the UK
and Republicof Ireland'and the CharitiesAct 2011.The financialstatementshavebeen prepared under
the historical cost convention.

Preparation of the accounts on a going concern basis

Thetrusteesarenotawareofanymaterialuncertaintiesaboutthecharity'sabilitytocontinueas a
going concern.

Income

All incomeis recognisedin the Statementof FinancialActivitiesoncethe charityhas entitlementto the
funds, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably.

Expenditure

Liabilitiesare recognisedas expenditureas soon as there is a legal or constructiveobligation committing
thecharitytothatexpenditure,itisprobablethatatransferofeconomicbenefitswillberequired in
settlementand the amountof the obligationcan be measuredreliably.Expenditureis accountedfor on
an accrualsbasisand has been classifiedunderheadingsthataggregateall costrelatedto the category.
Wherecostscannotbedirectlyattributedtoparticularheadingstheyhavebeenallocatedto activities
on a basis consistent with the use of resources.

The charity is exempt from tax on its charitable activities.
