the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider

Ranch supported 11 children and their
families through its Sessions Programme.
The childrens’ ages ranged from age 5 to 15
years, with beneficiaries coming from varied
backgrounds, and with differing needs,
including adopted/cared for children,
homeschooled children, children with SEND,
those suffering from anxiety, and
experiencing bereavement. Each child
received Christian literature in the form of
either A Diary of a Disciple or a Youth Bible,
depending on their age, plus a Rooted
Journal. The following two testimonials give
an example of the impact the charity’s work
has had on its beneficiaries and
subsequently society as a whole:
_- ‘My children had not attended any out of_
_school activities without a parent since the_
_end of the pandemic, due to their many_
_issues such as sensory processing,_
_attachment, anxiety as well as ADHD.and_
_ASD behaviours._
_Haven Youth Ranch was perfect for them as_
_it really helped calm them down and they_
_both loved attending._
_Both my children have opposite presentation_
_in their behaviours, for example opposite_
_attachment and sensory behaviours._
_However they both equally benefited from_
_the sessions. My son, aged 9, has difficulties_
_with speaking in new situations, was very_
_quickly was put at ease. He was allowed to_
_speak at his rate and as a result developed a_
_lot of confidence in just 6 sessions. My_
_daughter, aged 10, talks excessively and_
_she learnt to listen and follow instructions_
_and she equally developed a lot of_
_confidence in just 6 sessions._
_Even though a parent attended these_
_sessions, due to the work of the Haven_
_Youth Ranch staff, parents were eventually_
_able to step back as the children became_
_more confident. I believe as a direct result of_
_these sessions, the children built confidence_
_to feel safe away from parents and were_
_able to attend a few days in a summer_
_holiday club without parents. This is a huge_
_step for them which they have gone on to_
_maintain._
_Also due to our children’s needs and_
_behaviours it has been almost impossible for_| |---|---|---| _both parents to work hence if this wasn’t offered for free, we would not have been able to access it and the children still would not feel safe to leave the parents to attend anything independently.’ - ‘I couldn't rate Lucy highly enough for the work that she does at Haven Youth Ranch. My little boy suffers massively with anxiety, whilst working with Lucy and the horses his worries melted away and he blossomed with confidence.’_ Alongside sessions, Haven Youth Ranch was used as a space for Christian prayer, holding regular ‘Poo Pick and Prayer’ sessions, and two Partner Prayer Events.
