The Childhood Cancer Charity (CCC) is managed by an executive board made up of the above Trustees. 

In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO. 

## **Objectves and Actvites** 

Our first year of operations focused on building our brand and strategy. 

Our intentions had been to release an initial grant funding round in September 2022, however due to a founding trustee stepping down for personal reasons prior to public launch, new Trustees needed to be secured to ensure good governance of the charity, before we could move forward. 

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there was also a delay in opening a bank account which was out of our control. The finance sector had a lag in the processing of new account requests which meant, despite registering in August 2021, we were only able to launch the charity in May of 2022, giving us three months of fundraising before the end of our first financial year. 

As a result, our first financial year focused on building our brand, establishing our case for support, and agreeing our strategic direction to allow future growth and development. 

Our income was generated through the generous donations of our trustees and connections all of whom have a personal interest in the development of dedicated childhood cancer research. 

At the end of our first financial year, we launched a public facing campaign to develop ongoing funding and build our grant pot for 2022/23, ongoing. 

We have been mindful since the inception of our charity that our costs should be minimal and only incurred where necessary. As such, all costs incurred in our first year have been more than covered by our modest fundraising and these are detailed below.

The attached accounts show receipts of £2,302.80 and expenditure of £1,913.86. 

The Charity has no debts and does not hold funds as investments. These accounts have been verified by Laura Townsend & Zahra Scott-Gunnlaugsson in their capacity as Trustees. The Charity has no paid employees. 

This Annual Report is approved by the board of Trustees Chairperson, Zahra Scott-Gunnlaugsson and verified by all trustees.
