AGM Chairman’s Report

Our Journey…..

You may or not be aware that the club has been looking for a new ground since we lost our previous ground at Knighton Lane during the first lockdown of 2020. We were able relocate to current shooting ground at Rossmore Leisure Centre in August 2020. During this period there was a loss of shooting time from 7-day access to 4-day access (Wed eve, Thu eve, Sat, Sun) during the summer and 2 day access (Sat, Sun) during the winter.

We were told at the time of the move that there were plans to install a 3G pitch at the far end of the field but the resulting plans are far larger than those that were explained. We have spent a considerable amount of time in the hunt for a more secure venue and just over a year ago we were close to securing a council owned ground which we would be able to rent. However, this fell through, and we continued to search. As you are now aware we have lost our ground at Rossmore and have been fortunate to find a ground very quickly at Walnut Farm Pamphill.

The ground has now been registered with GNAS / ArcheryGB and replaced our registration at Rossmore and we have drawn up an agreement which is currently being checked by a solicitor.

The field will need lots of hard work to become ‘shoot ready’ but we have made a start and it is marked out to the required distances, but we will still need help.

I would like to thank everybody for attending this evening and would like to thank everybody who helped with the work so far and assisting in the marking out of the field and moving the bosses to our new venue. I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome all the new members to the club.
