G￿￿s FITA WLS aoiltarii 2810612022 - Chairnian's Report AGM Chairnwi's RqK)rt You may or not aware that the club h&8 been looking for a new ground since we lost our previous ground at Knighton Lane during the first lockdown of 2020. We were able to locate a temporary location at The Hamworthy Club until we were able to relocate to current shootin8 ground at Rossmore Leisure Centre in August 2020. During this period there was a loss of shoottng time from 7 day access to 4 day access (Wed eve. Thu ¢v¢. SaL Sun) during the summcr and 2 day access (SaL Sun) during the winier. When football returned to using Rossmore our shooting times were reduced even further to just the Saturday. After we lost our ground at Knighton Lane we spent a considerable amount of time working with Bourn¢mouth, Christchurch and Poole Council {BCP) to Secu￿ a more p¢rnianent shooting ground with mor¢ access. Initially Janice w&$ n¢golialing with BCP on behalf of the club rewrting to the committee on the progress of th¢ talks. BCP issued a licence which w&s ￿VieWed by the committee and barring a few points look￿ &s though we would t¢ able to move fonvard. However, one of the points w&s an area where we would not be able to agree to sign becaus¢ it meani that whoever signed the lic¢n¢¢ would be liable for any damage caused if access w&$ breach¢d. The committee took advice on this and were advised that we should pursue and change legal status to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). By changing the status of the club to a CIO means that the club, its officers and members would be protected from claims against individuals. L&st year we applied for CIO status with the Charity Commission on 12 May 2021 and it was granted on 5 August 2021. This involved rewriting the club constitution and many of the Cla￿eS in the Constitution may seem unnecessary, even irrelevant, but it follows as closely as w)ssible the Charity Commission template which all potential CIOS are strongly advised to keep to as closely &s possible. It is deliberately kept'broad-brush,, to perniit future flexibility in the operation of Sagittatii without having to return to the Charity Commissioners for approvaI of minor changes. From recent beginner's courses we have gained a number of new members. We will be holding additional ourses through the rest of the summer. It is encouraging that a large percentage of attende¢s at the courses are becoming members of the club. I would like to thank ev¢rybody for attending this evening and would like to thank everybody who helped with the workday on Saturday. I would also like to take this OPEK)rtunity to welcome all the new menlbers to the club. Dave Reynolds Chainnan Version 0.2 Document Ref: ROOI Tel¢phone: Registered i EDgl•d Wales: 1195397
