OBJEcfivES AND AcnviTIES
The objects of the CIO are:

To promote the benefit of the inhabttants of Valley Park and the ne5ghbouthood without the
distinrtion of se& sexual orientation, race or of political. releious or other opinions. bv
associating together the said inhabitants and the local authorities, voluntary and other
organisations in a common effort to advance educ3tion and to Pfovlde facilities in the
interests of social welfare for recreational and leisure-time occupation with the object of
improving the conditions of lrfe for the said Inhabit￿ts.
In furtherance of these objects but not otherwise, trustees shall have power.
To estsblish, or Secu￿ the estsbltshment of, a Community Centre and to maintsin and
manage the same in furtherance of these objects;

In keeping with the recrèètion31 objÈrtivÈs of thè Association WÈ have continued to use funding
from The National Lottery Awards All fund and a Hampshire County Councilk)r Grant to finance a
Community En8a8ement Coordinator for 16 hours perweek
Improvements to the Community Centre included the installatton of a large screen in the Main Hall.

We have a band of volunteers who 8ive up a considerable afflount of time to a5SiSt the runnin8 and
operations of Valley Park Community A55LKiation and the Trustees are extremelygrateful for each
and every one of those volunteers_ In particular we have approximately 90volunteers who
distribute our Maga￿￿e Ihe Valley Park Voice- ten months of the year. We also have number of
casual volunteers who help out at variovs events induding the Community Kettle, Iltter plcks and
other artivities.

Valley Park Community Association has continued to thiive wrth 3 corè C(xnmittee and membership
scheme.
VPCA manages not only the Communttycentre and lotal magazine Ivalley Park Voicel but employs a
Centre Manager, Cc*nmunty Engagement Coordinator. and Caretaker. aeanI￿ is outsourced to
improve reliability of this Service.
The Communtty Engagement C(KJrdiDator role has continued to allow the provision of a Comrnunity
Summer Fayre, Litter Picki￿ Halloween Events. Christmas Fayre and Santa'5 Workshop5. Events
such ès Bingo l Qui2 & Fish Supper have promoted a sirong working relationshrp with local
businesses. These events have proved so successfvl that we will continue to run more and similar
events irt the very near future.
Members of the h)cal community attended and supported these recreational events which provided
lots of opportunities for improved 50cÉali5ation. to the benefit of everyone's mental health.
Employing a Community Engagement Coordinator to run events beneffts the Community. $0 whilst
we would like to make a small amount of money on these the main aim is to bring the Communlty
together and for them to have a focal point that is a friend￿. safe. and welcoming place to corne to...
Ihe Centre of the Communityl I hope that this wll promote more hirers, and more income for us to
relnvest.
We continue to make small irnpnwements to the tnfrastrurture of the Community Centre whith
include upgrades to the fire panel, upgrades to the heatin8SyStem, refurbishing the stacking chai
to extend thetr lifespan. and repainting of the toilet area. The Centre continues to provide an ideal
venue for recreation and leisure time occupatr"on.
We continue to improve our social media presence and regularly update the websÉte to keep
beneficiaries informed of ongoing recreational oppwtunities at the Centre hiring availability.
The Valley Park Volte has continued to be a source of information to the Community. This
publication produces ten editions per yew in both hard and electronic copy to ensure indusion to all
beneficiaries.
Although we mafle an experted1055 in the year due to a shortfall in Community Engagement Project
income. we remain financialw stable moving fo￿ard.
FINANCIAL REVIEW

during the yearwere Hirir& Athrtising in the Valley Pafk VoKe magazine and event fundraising.
Advertising in the Voice. though decreased. o)ntinues to cover prlnting costs and serves our
charitable wrposes of maintaininB the C￿￿munity CeTht￿. keeping befteficiaries informed of
progress and events and acbvityes therein.
The last year has been challenging with a continued de￿ase in hire income due to a redurtion in
re8ulaf hi￿5 which we are looknng to re50fve in the nert fe44 month>

The £492 restricted funds carried forward from the previous year were Eranted from Test Vallev
Borou8h Council as restricted funds towards the on80in8 Community Engagement Projert and were
utilised In the currentyear.
A large screen was installed at a costof £.3114 a5 shown in the Purchase of Fixed Assets.

The charity have employed an average of 3 stsff during the year. There are no employees who
