Lottery Community Fund and Valley Park Parish Countil to finance 8 Community Engagement
Coordinator for 16 hours perwee
Surface improvements to the playground were completed USI￿ a combination of ao unrestricted
funds, a grantfrom The C￿operative Bank Community Fund, and also a contribution from Test
Valley Borough Council Community Asset Fund whith was paid dirertly to the suppller.

We have a band of volunteers who up a consi(lerable amount of time to asslst the running and
operations of Valley Park Cornmunity Association and the Trustees are extremely grateful for each
and every one of those volunteers. In partiojlar we have approximatety 90 volLtnteers who
distribute our magazine The Valley Park Voice- ten months of the year which has been partlailarly
important during the isolathon of lothdowns over the past 12 months.

time were adopted by the CIO. This reduced liability on individual trustees arKI allowed us to retain
and recruit new member5 therefore securing the or6oing management ofthe Community Centre.
VPCA manages not only the Community Centre, local magazine (Valley Park Voicel but empli)ys a
Centre Manager, Community Engagernent Coordinator, Caretaker and Cteaner.
The Community Engagement Coordinator role has allowed the provision of è Community Summer
Fa￿e, Litter Pickin& Halloween Events. Christmas Fay￿ and Santa's Workshops. Members of the
local communlty attended and supported these recreational events. proviithng lots of opportunities
for improved socialisation, to the benefit of everyone's mental health. Emplowng a Commun¥ty
Engagement Coordinator to run events benefitsthe Community, so whilst we would like to make a
small amountof money on thesethe main aim isto bringthe Communitytogetherandforthem to
have a focal point as we ￿ntinue to recoverfrom Covid and thatthe Centre is seen as iys
described... the Centre of the Communityl I hope that thi5 will promote more hI￿r5, and more
income for us to reinvest.
We contlnue to make small improvements to the Community Centre which Indude surface
Improvements to the playground, overhauling the heating system so that the Centre contlnues to
provide an ideal venue for recreation aThJ le6sure time omipatlon.
We continue to improve our social media presen￿ and regularly update the website to keep
beneficiaries informed of ongoing recreational opportunities at the Centre and hlring availability.
Thè Valley Park Voice has continued to be a source of infom)ation to the Community. Thi5
publication produces ten editions per year in both hard and elertronic copy to ensure indu5ion to all
beneficiaries.
We are holdtng our first AGM in accordance with our Constitution on 28 February 2023. We have
started a membership scheme.
Our financial situatlon has stabilised allowing us to make and plan future improvements to the
Centre.
FINANaAL REVIEW

We are In a positive finan¢ial position having marketed ourselves well to encourage increased usage
of the Centre as venue hire remains our maln income stream. The main sources of unrestricted
fjJnds during the year were Hiring, AthertiSin8 in the Valley Park Voice magazine and event
fvndraising.
Advertising in the Voice and running of events has bolstered our finanaal p051tion allowin8 US to
plan for future improvements to the Centre. Plannir% will take place in the next finanaal year
followin8 the AGM and inststement of the Committee.
In the year the charity re￿Ived the followin8 grants:
£3,W) from Valley Park Parish Council as restricted funds toward5 the ongolng Community
Engagement Project which was utilised in the ￿rrent year.
£IO,(KJO from The National Lottery Community Fund as restricted fund5 for the ongoing
Community Engagement ProjecL £6.556 remains which is shown in restrirted fijnds at the
year end.

£2,667 Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant from Te5tValley Borough Coundl whlch was
utilised as unre5trirted fund5 in the current year.
£i,o(xsfrom The Co-operative Bank Customer Donation Fund as restritted funds for the
Playground Refurbishment ProRrt whlch was utilised in the year.
The charity a150 benefrted from £3,435 from the Test Valley Borough Council Community Asset Fund
which reduced the cost of the Playground Refurbishment ProjecL This was transferred within Test
Valley Borough Counal who invoiced VPCA the remaining balan￿ of £3,459 shown in Centre
Improvemen￿ £I,c￿ was paid from The Co￿perative Bank Customer Donation Fund grant wlth
the remaining balance being paid from core fund& Work was completed withln the year.
A heating control system was Installed at a cost of £640 as shown In Centre Improvements.
Independent examiner costs of £360 and payroll services costs of £546 are induded within centre
administration expenses.
The charty employed 6 staff during the year. There are no employees who receive employee
beneflts of more than £60.0W.
None of the Trustees have been paid any renumeration or recer¥ed any benefits from an
employment with the Charty in the year.
No Trustee expenses have been incurred by the charity in the year.
The charity benefits from approximately ￿ volunteers for newsletter dlstributlon and a frjrther 10
ad hoc volunteers for events.
