## **Structure, governance and management** 



**Type of governing document** There have been no changes to structure. President remains Lady Tollemarche, Chair is Dr Hemant Laxaman, Co-chair is Dr Yin Miao, Treasurer is Judith Steward, and Secretary is Marjorie Thompson. The charity has an annual AGM held in December as well as addition 2- 3 meetings to plan charitable activities. **Trustee recruitment and appointment** Dr John Wyke was removed as trustee and Wendy Webb was appointed. All other current trustees were re-appointed at separate trustees meeting after AGM. **Objectives and activities Charitable purposes** The Digestive Disorders Foundation (Suffolk) raise money in Suffolk to help Suffolk hospitals in the research, treatment, cure and prevention of digestive disorders. **Summary of the main activities** We give grants to relevant medical staff to help them keep abreast **in relation to these objects** of developments in their specialised field such as by attending conferences/educational activities as well as funding any research or equipment which would assist in the management of patients, mainly at Ipswich hospital. We have virtually no administrative expenses; all our fundraising work is done by dedicated volunteers and we have no premises to maintain. We organise local fundraising activities in the form of an annual quiz, annual draw, hampers around Christmas and easter as well as a charity dinner. In addition we have a dedicated website and produce a regular newsletter reporting on past events and highlighting future events and activities.

**Brief statement of the charity’s policy** The charity has been fortunate to have money in reserve with aim this **on reserves** will be used to fund a larger project relating to digestive disorder care in future (long term aim has been to fund a dedicated endoscopy training room) For current financial year: Income amounted to £12032.69 of which, £5132.29 were from donations, £3374.80 were from charity activities and £3525.60 from other activities Expenditure amounted to £2614.78 in total The charity has funds mainly in an instant access savings account as well as a proportion in a current account with Natwest Bank **Details of any deficit** No deficit **Donated facilities and services (if any)** The charity relies on volunteers alongside the trustees to enable us to undertake the above outlined fundraising activities, as well as attending meetings planning for ongoing and future activities. These volunteers are not paid by the charity.
