1. Loaning instruments to young students who
would find it financially difficult to access
such instruments. To this end the
Foundation purchased a number of higher
quality instruments for £7,319, funded from
the sale of lower quality instruments for
£9,800. Currently 15 students (versus 12 in
2024) students have borrowed instruments
from the Foundation.
2. Providing financial assistance in the form of
grants to assist those students who would
financially struggle to continue to pursue
their musical education. During the year,
grants were made to six (versus seven in
2024) deserving young students, and
3. Allowing students to participate in musical
concerts in support of professional
musicians to grow their confidence and

financial position at the end
of the period|Para 1.21|As at 31 December 2025, the Foundation held
a cash balance of £3,460, down from £3,961 at
the end of 2024. Receipts of £15,807 were
exceeded by payments of £16,308, a net
outflow of £501. Excluding instrument sales and
purchases, operating receipts of £6,007 fell
short of operating payments of £8,989, and the
difference was met from the proceeds of selling
lower quality instruments. This reflects a fall in
one-off large donations, from £12,748 in 2024
to £3,201 in 2025, partly offset by royalties of
£1,778. The value of grants awarded for
musical education assistance was broadly
maintained at £2,750 (2024: £2,900), made to
six students (2024: seven). The Trustees aim to
maintain or increase this level of grant making
as more students become aware of the
Foundation through concerts and through
sponsored awards at established festivals such
as the North London Festival of Music and
