registering the charity, selecting Trustees and a
Core Group who could work together to plan re-
settlement of a refugee family in our area via
Community Sponsorship.
Once the Core group was formed we completed
the various documents including Safeguarding;
Ethos, Values and Principles; Volunteer
Guidelines; Complaints Procedures, etc. We also
went about raising the £9k needed to make the
application. Getting approval from Surrey
County Council as well as Epsom & Ewell
Borough Council took some time but finally
come through early in 2022 and we then
completed and submitted our application to the
Home Office. We received approval in principle
on 6th April 2022, it was in principle as we had
not secured a private rental property suitable for
a family at this stage.|
