The cylch will provide high quality care and education to children from the age of 2 to school age. During the sessions the children will have the opportunity to learn and socialise under the supervision of well trained, experienced and enthusiastic staff. As play is essential to child development the experiences and activities offered in the cylch meithrin are based on foundation phase principles and learning through play. Great importance is given to early language, literacy and communication skills together with social and personal development. The Service is provided through the medium of Welsh. The cylch is open daily Monday – Friday from 0830 onwards. The cylch can care for up to 30 children age 2 and, approximatley 30 children age 3 in daily

activities which promotes the use of welsh language within the families and community can also be provided out of cylch meithrin hours. Flying start will fund 2 year old children within the designated flying start areas for 12.5 hours childcare per week. In addition 3 year old children who qualify for funding (term after their 3 rd birthday) will be funded for 10 hours per week. The 30 free hours childcare scheme offers 20 hours of grant funded provision for children aged 3 years and above. The three grant streams are the main sources of finance for the cylch. Any further income will be raised through independent placement, rental fees, fund raising or charitable donations. Cynllun Busnes Dyddiad 22.04.16 The cylch is run by qualified, experienced staff. As the cylch are a Flying Start provider it is required that each member of staff be qualified to NVQ level 3 and the leader qualified to NVQ level 5. All members of staff will hold a current Child protection certificate. The leader will ensure that there is a member of staff with a first aid certificate in each session but the cylch will aim to ensure that each member of staff has a paediatric first aid certificate. We will also aim to ensure that each member of staff holds a food safety certificate. A comprehensive range of training is available through Flying Start and the Local Authority and each member of staff will be encouraged to attend as much training as is commensurate to their duties. Even though much of the training is subsidised on occasions there will be costs which will have to be met by the Cylch. With more parents returning to work there is a greater demand for high quality childcare. In addition we would support all children in their progress on to Welsh medium education. We can be

competitive in respect of price with other local providers but we have the Welsh language as our unique selling point.
