started trading as a childcare provider in
September 2021.
The area in which the charity trades in is an
area of deprivation on the WDI and many
parents rely on affordable childcare to be
able to return to work or training.
The Charity launched in the middle of the
Covid pandemic and many parents were
not in a position to take advantage of out of
school childcare, however the trustees
have worked hard to start making the
charity sustainable. All children in the local
area are welcome to attend the childcare
club and do not need to attend the school
the club is linked to. It is a fully inclusive
childcare club with permission to use the to
the schools wheelchair access and
facilities. The children have a safe
environment to play with other children and
to start to rebuild their social interactions
after covid.
The Charity has close links with the school
it is linked to and regularly work together to
build the afterschool provision.
The main ethos of the Charity is to provide
experiences for the children that they would
not necessarily have at home such as
dance lessons, a trip to the local Christmas

help with sustainability. The grant has
helped sustain the charity while trying to
increase revenue.
Due to the current financial challenges, the
charity is not as sustainable as it hoped to
be at the end of the 3rd year trading.
Parents are not able to afford afterschool
childcare due to rising costs of living.
The charity manages funds awarded to St
Anthonys school from Sports Wales. More

held in this capacity|In March 2022, St Anthonys School were success in being
awarded a grant from Sport Wales for £6180 to be used to
procure sporting activities for the children of the school.
The management of the Grant has been delegated Clwb
Hapus. The Grant is to encourage children to take part in
more sport and adopt healthier lifestyles. Flintshire County
Council and Sports Wales have agreed to the
management of the funds being delegated to Clwb Hapus.
The Grant is restricted funds is used only for procuring
sporting activities for the children attending the school and
costs associated with the activities. To date the grant has
been used for Bush Skills, Taekwondo and Multi-Sports.
Parents are charged a fee to attend the activities sessions
which are paid directly to Clwb Hapus.
At the beginning of the financial year the Charity held
£871.51 in it account from Sports Wales. As at 30
