**continued to grow. One additional**
**supermarket has been added to the**
**existing ones, from which regular**
**collections have been made. We have**
**had to cease collections from one**
**supermarket due to the travel distances**
**involved. The distribution of this surplus**
**food (that would otherwise be thrown**
**away) to the needy in the local**
**community - and even further afield on**
**occasions, has been carried out by our**
**ever-growing team of volunteers.**
**It has continued to develop very close**
**working relationships with several other**
**charitable organisations to enable the**
**large amounts of food to be distributed in**
**an efficient manner. Examples of some of**
**these organisations are:**


**Schools in the area operating their**
**own Food Banks**

**Various NHS facilities**
**At the same time, the charity continues to**
**directly**
**support many individuals and**
**families in the community. These**
**recipients that come to the attention of**
**the volunteers from time to time are**
**supplied with food - direct to their door in**

**charity was successful in securing a**
**grant from Sainsbury’s via the**
**Neighbourly scheme. The charity has**
**also undertaken some more fundraising.**
**These funds have enabled the charity to**
**continue to offer our volunteers the**
**chance to be reimbursed for the ever-**
**increasing cost of fuel used in their own**
**vehicles whilst collecting and distributing**
**food.**
**Without this influx of funds, the charity**
**would not have been able to reimburse**
**fuel costs and many of our volunteers**
**would therefore be unable to afford to**
**cover the additional motoring costs**
**associated with the collection and**
**distribution.**
**The charity held a total of £431 in funds**
**as at the end of the period being reported**
**- see submitted accounts for more**
**details.**
**We continue to apply for grants in order**
**to be able to reimburse our volunteers for**
**their transport costs involved in**
