Financial Review

Financial Review
Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period
Para 1.21 We are encouraged by the generosity of
the Lord’s people. This year we now have
a surplus of income over expenditure of
around £7000.
Statement explaining the
policy for holding reserves
stating why they are held
Para 1.22 We have a Reserves Policy to ensure that
the Trust has sufficient funds in reserve to
meet its financial and legal obligations and
allow a proper and orderly reduction in
activity or closure of the Trust if that ever
became necessary.
This process is designed to identify and
protect funds for all legal, financial and
moral commitments already entered in to.
We put a hedge around £45,000 in the
General Fund to cover the running costs
and maintenance of all church properties
and the pastor.
We hold these reserves for any unexpected
expenses or immediate urgent repair
situations at either the church building or at
the Manse. The Trustees believe that it is
sufficient to maintain the on-going needs of
the church and to respond to any such
unexpected items of expenditure.
We review the Reserves Policy yearly.

Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of Rugby Evangelical Free Church

I report on the accounts of Rugby Evangelical Free Church for the year ended 29 February 2015.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

Basis of independent examiner’s report :-

My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the next statement.

Independent examiner’s statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached
