## **TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT**

## **YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2023**

## **Financial Review**

The Society is funded by subscriptions from the member clubs in the region. There is also investment income from shares held and bank deposits. This income is spent to further the objectives of the Society.

In addition to the money held in UK banks are funds held and managed in a Funds Network portfolio. Income received is re-invested, after the deduction of fees.

There were funds transferred into the Society being the value of bank balances, investments and net assets on incorporation. Full details are reported in the receipts and payment accounts that follow this report.

There were receipts in the year of £34,861 (2022 - £22,687) and after payments of £22,370 (2022 - £39,089) there was a surplus of £12,491 (2021 – deficit £16,402). There were loans repaid to the Society in the year of £1,000 (2022 - £500). The Society had cash reserves at the 31 December 2023 of £75,410.

In accordance with the objectives of the Society there have been loans to member clubs and the value owed to the Society at 31 December 2023 were £18,366 (2022 - £19,366).

In addition to this there were investments held by the Society with historic cost of £84,545 (2022 - £83,060). These had a value at 31 December 2023 of £202,722 (2022 - £199,965).

## **Reserves Policy**

The Society maintains a reserve so that it could respond to unforeseen needs of the member clubs and individuals.

They are also long-term plans for the establishment of a central archery centre for the region, but no suitable location has yet been identified for this by the Society.

The Trustees consider that the present situation with their investments and bank balances is sound. They will continue to review the situation regularly, and will adjust it as necessary, to ensure the future viability of the Society.

## **YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2023**

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity for the year ended 31 December 2023 set out on pages 6 to 8.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**

As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011.

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent examiner's statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
