Funkykids for families effected by hearing loss Annual report period ended 31[st] December 2022 The trustees present their report for period ending 31[st] December 2022 ## Principle activity The principle of Funkykids is to provide social and recreational activities to families effected by hearing loss to provide support and advice to improve mental health, physical health, health and well being and prevent isolation within the deaf community. We provide monthly themed events for families, parent and toddler groups, coffee mornings and support groups, monthly signing classes, a youth service, trips, one to one support and a counselling service. At the end of a fantastic year we would like to extend our thanks to the committee, volunteers and staff who have worked very hard during the past 12 months as we look back it is encouraging to see how we are constantly progressing, achieving and improving. Robert carter continues to serve as chair of funkykids our committee members are Wayne Samuels, Gillian Symonds, Helen Marklew, Peter Marklew, Addona Thomas, Adrian Perks, Simone carter continues to serve as funkykids manager seeing all the daily running’s of the charity, groups, support and funding. We have been able this past year to continue very successfully with all our events and groups after covid 19 outbreaks. We have produced the final annual accounts for the year ending 31[st] December 2022, These will now be uploaded on the charity commissions website. We will continue with regular committee and volunteer meetings and also an annual AGM meeting. We again have been successful in obtaining funding and we would like to express our appreciation to the trusts that have funded us within the pat 12 months. We will continue with our monthly fundraising and take part in sponsored activities. We will continue to secure funding from various sources to continue with future development and we are also confident we will continue to succeed with our ambitions for our charity. Our manager Smone carter will continue to network with other organisations.
