Purchased a bespoke rugby wheelchair for one player
The above points have all contributed to the charities objectives
and have allowed beneficiaries to take part in the sport of
wheelchair rugby with decreased financial difficulty.
Throughout the year the charity has accommodated two training
session per week.
The charity has taken part in two competitions operated by the
national governing body of wheelchair rugby, allowing all
beneficiaries the opportunity to compete in the sport that they
practice.
During the financial year, the charity also supported its members
to participate in an international disability sports tournament held
in the Netherlands. This activity directly aligns with our charitable
objectives of promoting inclusion and participation in sport for
people with disabilities. The expenditure covered tournament
entry fees, accommodation, and travel costs for players and
support staff. These costs were necessary to enable our members
to compete at an appropriate level and further the charity’s aims
of improving physical and mental well-being through sport.
Fundraising has been good this year, particularly improved by a
large investment into the wheelchair rugby from the Mark
Benevolent Fund whereby £50,000 has been awarded to each
wheelchair rugby club pending an application.
The beneficiaries of the club have maintained a healthy lifestyle
due to their continued involvement with the sport and the charities
