Annual Report for the 2024 Financial Year
During the past year, we have continued to focus on our mission of promoting and supporting the rights of Indigenous peoples globally as well as protection and preservation of the environment. This year we have had a specific focus on Indigenous women and youth and climate action. We believe that through supporting Indigenous communities, raising awareness of their struggles and successes, engaging in Indigenous and non-Indigenous positive dialogue contributes to the wellbeing of the wider community through respect for nature and peoples who have lived off the lands for millennium. In the 2024 period we continued to slowly build our small team.
While we remain small and growing slowly as a start-up charity, we are proud to report the growth of our team and the promotion we view as progress milestones:
-
We were approached by another film documentary (Sugarcane, 2024) whose aims were to promote Indigenous causes, they requested we review the documentary and write a film reviews in the lens of Indigenous rights protection. We received no renumeration for these actions.
-
We made valuable collaborations with different universities in the UK, where we were able to share about the work that we do and spotlight some Indigenous cases that were of interest to the professor, students and curriculum of that relevant course
-
We promoted Indigenous scholars and activists from central America who advocated for the protection of their communities rights and preservation of the environment.
-
We held several webinars presenting some Indigenous scholars and their work, inviting UK audiences and networks which were well attended.
-
Summarized and reported on the events of the UN as they relate to Indigenous peoples and protection of the environment
-
We used our social media platforms to highlight the causes of Indigenous scholars, activists and communities
-
We wrote and published articles from the content of our interviews with these Indigenous scholars.
-
We built a team of volunteers of 5 people that worked on our social media and outreach and have continued to work on a zero-cost basis.
While we note this progress, we have not yet required any funding to operate due to our very small size and slow growth, therefore have nothing to submit for the financial review. We hope to continue to grow our team and financial base so that we can continue to do our work and reach our targets under our charitable purpose. We are careful to consider our policies and to remain within our charitable purposes.
As we look to the future, we are excited about the opportunities and challenges ahead. We are committed to continuing our mission and making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.
Sincerely,
Incomindios UK
